  1. I must admit I agree with Dave give the chance for the guy to resolve his issues. The band I am in put up with me having to go to hospital (normally A & E) if there are issues with my parents health. It's nice to know that they say they miss me when I am not there and I am certainly not the best player.
  2. I agree with Raslee on the Retroglide. It's a very versatile piece of kit which allows you to get a wide variety of sounds out of it via the graphic style controls.
  3. I use my Two 10 with an Ashdown Retroglide 800 and because the amp uses graphic equalizer style controls it's easy to get a wide variety of sound out of the cab. I went for the 4 ohm version on Alex's recommendation as my backup amp is a MarkBass Blackline 250.
  4. Nice job there Mr eude. I am also a fan of Alan's short scale basses having a 30.5" 4 string Skelf.
  5. If the 3M Dual Lock is that strong would you not get away with just putting a piece on each foot and corresponding pieces on the cab?
  6. Welcome from a fellow Midlander.
  7. As chris b say's: "What's the alternative? Massive tinnitus, giving up gigging, hearing aids and partial (if you're lucky) deafness. Great choices!!" I have everything except the 'giving up gigging' bit caused by a rock concert I went to. I use custom earplugs, wouldn't recommend anything less.
  8. A job well done Clunkie66. Congrats ad keep it up.
  9. Dave, How would the Spitfire version look in the original plane's colours?
  10. +1 but just double check your amp has no loose bits floating around inside just in case a short occurs. (Not casting any assertions on the state of your amp - just a precaution.)
  11. Hi Dave, Being in a buy British mode and with all the past exploits we are remembering this year (including my 60th birthday) it ticks the boxes for me Dave. (My dad will love it as he is ex RAF.) I would suggest this as a one off or special edition maybe though?
  12. You may get some latency as the sounds got to go up hill, turn it the other way up and you'll be hearing the notes before you play them - difficult choice
  13. I use mine with Barefaced Two10 and it works a treat. As Raslee has commented you can get an array of sounds easily from 'modern to vintage' so it does not matter to much what cab you have you should be able to get the sound you want. It also enables room boundary problems and bass boom to be dealt with. Noisy fan - maybe a little but not overtly noticeable in a band situation. Low output - I think the pot on these is more gradual. In a practice situation with loud drummer and more reasonable guitarist the input volume is at about 2 o'clock with no 'overload light illuminating, while the output is at 1 o'clock.
  14. Just to keep any bass GAS at bay I'd go for 2 and modify the HB. It would then be nearly new GAS.
  15. Wonder why he did not put it in the classifieds if he's a BCer?
  16. He's being greedy after offering it to you at a price he was obviously happy with.
  17. Criteria - it must work. Not to worried which one I take.
  18. A very simplistic amp with instrument and pre-amp inputs only, no 'tone' controls, tuner, USB socket and speaker outputs. Then produce a range of pre-amp/foot pedals/plug-in modules for any other requirements. There could be a pre/power combination as an alternative. This gives the bassist the ability to add and change as required.
  19. Agree with BigRedX , discreet and Shambo regarding the mp3 files. There are better formats available and you could copy cd/vinyl using a bespoke conversion program (I use Exact Audio Copy) and run from your Mac. These should sound better than mp3 (obviously for personal use only). Another thing to look at as an outboard Digital to Analogue converter which can be far better than those built into your computer and not expensive. Petty your not closer as I have one or two you could try.
  20. Congratulations Sibob, I hope the wedding went well.
  21. Hi Dave and LeftFoot, How would the unit look like if you keep the lettering formal but the paint job splatter? I have also emailed you re purchasing a unit at the discounted price. BR Alan
