1. +1 The EQ enables you to adjust the end sound especially if there are other components in the chain between guitar, amp and cab.
2. If it's a cheapie short scale to try look at the Harley Benton Shorty at Thomann: https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_hbp90bk_shortscale_ebass.htm
3. Yep, it;s mine looking forward to it but may have to get the 80's retro clothing to match it....
4. A short scale Harley Benton P bass is available in combination with a starter amp: https://www.thomann....od_rel_172084_0 Can recommend the bass as I've got one.
5. Andy if it's still for sale I'll take it off your hands.
6. Mine is around 2 years old and the fan is a little noisy but no drastically so. Start playing outside a bedroom environment and you won't hear it. Thy are a serious bargain at the moment and built in the UK to boot.
7. Can only agree with the comments above, you lose nothing in tone and gain an ease in playing. Only need to get rid of my 5 string Spector and all my basses will be short scale.
8. Dave sent me a manual he had in the recycle and he posted foc. Top gent.
9. Purchased two of Dans stands easy and speedy transaction. Nice guy to deal with.
10. Yep, give in now and just go for one. Merton, I've got a Skelf short scale (30.75") its a cracking bass.
11. Used an Ashdown Retroglide 800 with a (borrowed) Barefaced Super Twin to very good effect so now I'm awaiting my own Two10 which should arrive shortly. The Two10 combination can be got for about £869 if you shop around for the amp so well within his budget and Made in Great Britain to boot.
12. If it is still available I will take it off you.
13. Had some Dunlop strap ends off Martyn excellent communication and prompt delivery. A nice guy to deal with.
14. Purchased his modded Harley Benton. Excellent, speedy and informative transaction. Jon is a pleasure to deal with.
15. Hi Mike, I have used an Ashdown Retroglide 800 with a Barefaced Super Twin (with DHA VT1 Bass pedal and a SWB 1 bass guitar) and my band mates made really good comments on the sound. Since the speaker was borrowed I have now ordered a Two10 from Barefaced.
16. Okay it's 'tomorrow' now what's the verdict?
17. Talk to Neil at Newtone. I use his strings on my 30.75" short scale bases and he can offer different types and cores. I believe the Platinum range has a slightly higher string tension.
18. I bet you need a rest after all that Andy. Terrific build. Terrific name - The Greek is a lucky an.
19. Nice ending to a bad situation. Glad everything has been recovered.
20. Whereabouts are you based as I may have an option for you as being an audiophile I'd hate to see your NAD and speakers expire.
21. I bought a gel strap shoulder pad from Earbass - Excellent transaction, thanks Richard.
22. If they fit the dual Dunlop guitar pins I'll take the Dunlop strap buttons if still available. BR Alan
23. I would think you need a line level input into the NAD.
24. I bet he used a jig saw to do that (before you say it mumble, mumble, groan)
25. Another lookey-likey would be the Chowny SWB-1 or the original from Stuart Whitley. Light weight and pretty versatile with passive or active versions being available.
