Hi Guys, Thanks for all the advice. I have placed an order with Alex for a Two10 with acrylic finish, also gone for the cab cover just in case and even ordered the T-Shirt (well it is my 60th birthday present). Again many thanks for all your replies.

I will be looking to purchase a barefaced Two10 in the coming weeks and was wondering if any of you out there can advise on the long term durability of the 2 finish options, the standard Tolex or the optional Acrylic finish. Is one proving to be better than the other?

We've been playing some of the songs in your set list for a number of years, they are classics. Our first ever gig was a similar set and we just thought people would listen so practiced to the best of our ability (yes, those stops in a 'simple song' are important) and were gob smacked when the audience got up and danced right from the first few notes 'til the end of the evening. Take the offer if it's made and enjoy.

Love mine, it worked well with Mibass 10 cabs and also a Barefaced 12T. Positive comments from my band buddies and easy to get the right sound using the graphic sliders. I use a DHA VT1 bas pedal with it and it sounds a treat.

Depending on your budget look at the Ashdown Retroglide 800 - can be had pretty cheaply.

Try Newtone Platinum steels with a round or hexagonal core depending upon requirements.

There was/is a Genz-Benz Shuttle 3.0-8T in the classifieds which is what I use as my go to practice combo. It means you could add a cab or unhook the head and use separately if needs be.

Sennheiser HD201 low cost but good quality

I used one Mi10 at rehearsal and found it sounded okay but added a second and everything that seemed to be missing from the sound, low bass and depth, suddenly appeared. I have used a Barefaced 2x12 in the same situation (smallish pub room no audience) and to me this cab sounded better by being cleaner and better defined. 2 x Mi10 in the music room (i.e. spare bedroom) sounded great but using one was not so bad either so I think room acoustics play a great part here. I think Alex may have come across this effect hence he introduction of the One10 and Two10whi is the route I may go.

I've actually got the 250 Blackline you considered. It's a great amp and the tone with the pots set flat is terrific.

It's Fifty this year and I'm Sixty. It's a great album especially from a production point of view and what I have heard of the new remix has been excellent.

You could stay with Ashdown and try the Retroglide 800 with a 4x 8 cab which Gear4Music are offering for £699 at the moment.
