1. Nice looking bass! Happy NBD. May I be the first to ask the inevitable BC question.. Erm, how much does it weigh?
2.
"A sound is musical if..."
...it sounds musical.
3. This thread is genius! Hopefully it will dent the demand for Wals to such an extent that I will be able to afford one at last. Keep it up fellas! 👍 Here's my contribution.. http://youtu.be/a0qDEVVtZvk
4. http://youtu.be/V-9Z0lLKzbY From 4.23 onwards. Otherwise I usually fall anywhere on the well recorded Precision Bass Spectrum. Could be anything.
5. I saw them on Friday night at the Manchester Ritz. Mind blown by the band and also by the sold out crowd who knew all the tunes! Still processing it all to be honest. Took a good friend of mine who had never heard of them before. Swear he was dribbling at one point..
6.
Used to good effect in an only fools and horses episode.
Damn straight. Brilliant episode that one!
7.
I'm doing that as well (have been for years with no luck - ha ha) but.. even if I wasn't, why is using a lighter bass to ease any pain such an odd concept?
Erm, it's not. I agree with you. I've needed to do it myself. Sorry if I've confused you there . I'm tired and I'm going now.
8.
I don't quite understand a couple of these recent comments. I don't mind admitting my frame is on the large side, and for quite a few years now, when doing a gig with a 9lb bass, I start to struggle during the second set. If I use a 7lb bass, I have no problems at all. It's not complicated...
Don't take it personally mate. I'm glad you know what's best for you. I also know what's best for me personally, and that is to lose a couple of stone instead of a couple of hours sleep every night due to compressed discs. I just stopped blaming my own situation on my bass. We're all different aren't we?
9. I've got a bad back (slipped discs) and I am one to obsess about a bass' weight. With some light mods I've got my P5 down to 8 1/2 lbs. Eventually I realised that I'm also 2 stone overweight. That's one pound more than the weight of THREE whole 9lb P basses hanging off my frame. At all times. Shaving a few (costly) ounces off the weight of my bass seems a bit silly now. I'm now working on the love-handle and moob situation instead. No pain etc... 😓
10. Love that colour combo! You could fit into any musical situation with that one. Congratulations! (better late than never 😉)
11. I sold a P5 pickup to Bilko, nice easy friendly deal. Recommended! 👍

Just bought a set of tasty Nordy pickups off Barrie. As before, a lovely friendly chap, easy deal, nice chat on the PMs as always. Thanks Barrie!
13. Dean bought a bass body off me in a super quick and easy no fuss deal. Lovely chap, recommended. Great dealing with you Dean. Cheers!
14. Shame Flea didn't at least record with the Wal again. He's never sounded better!
15. Bought a Stingray pickguard off James in a nice friendly deal Lovely chap, although he packed it so well in a nice Fender USA package, I had some explaining to do to the wife who thought I'd been going crazy ape-poo bonkers ordering stuff from America again! 😂 Top guy, deal with confidence. Thanks James 👍 (I'm sure things will get easier again after my divorce.. 😜)
16. Flea never gigged the Blood Sugar Wal because, in his own words, "it looked too dorky, same as the Alembic (Epic)" Macca gave up gigging the Wal because, "it was like wearing a door on your back"
