1. Has nobody heard about the "Isolates" revolution? They are bloody amazing! They isolate your ear drums completely so you "hear" everything through your ears bone (sounds weird, I know!) I tested my new set for the first time at a Pixies gig (holy Paz! 😍) two weeks ago. I was right at the front at the barrier and stayed there all night. I got the most perfect mix of the band with no ringing whatsoever. I could even hear people talking. Very strange at first but after 10 mins it felt normal. The Isolates come in Aluminium and Titanium, I went for the Aluminium ones as they are cheaper. They worked perfectly anyway. Check em out. Such a simple idea but a TOTAL gamechanger! I was turned on to them by my best friend who's band mates now too all have a set each. I've been through every type of earplugs short of shelling out for a custom made set. These Isolates are the sh!t. Seriously. Check them out people, you owe it to your ears! https://flareaudio.com/products/earfoams/isolate/
2.
That is what I REALLY think and what I REALLY do. .....and today is that one time per month.
I know. Just joshing. It does indeed sound like it's your time of the month mind 😂
3.
..........to only go on to Basschat once per month and to ignore bedroom playing, musical theory spouting, tone obsessed, slapping, effects loving, bullsh!t typing so called bass players!
Yes, but tell us, what do you REALLY think? 😄
4. All work and no play makes Miles a dull boy.
5. Not a miserable song per se, but there's always one at every Christmas party isn't there? http://youtu.be/a8qE6WQmNus
6. Sold Brand new, unboxed, unused (obvs) Fender Pure Vintage '63 Precision pickup. I actually have two but I'm keeping the other so this is spare. I'm looking for *EDIT #2*- £80 posted which is much less than Thomann (the cheapest price online for this pickup) and of course also minus their near tenner postage costs as the £85 for this one includes postage. Again, it's brand spanky box fresh new and direct to me from Fender.
7. The Hope Six Demolition Project - PJ Harvey.
8. This thread has led me to Spotifying Sandinista! which I'd never heard before. I kind of expected to not be into it from what I've read. Bloody excellent! It's the first album I've played for a while that my wife actually likes as well 😄
9. The making of documentary dvd in the deluxe edition is an eye-opener! The producer was really out there. Has to be seen. The bass tone on the title track is one of my favourite ever. The reason I bought a Dimarzio Model P!
10. I love a happy ending.
11. Bear it, but for the full agreed fee. If the LL really can't see why he should pay you in full, ask him if he'd also be happy to reduce the price of drinks to your followers by a quarter
12.
Trump/Farage
😂 The Velvet Underground
13. I've been trying out lots of different P bass pickups recently and these two are up for grabs: Dimarzio Model P in cream - GONE. Seymour Duncan SPB-1 - £35 posted Both pickups were new, installed in my bass using solderless connections, tested at home then removed the same day so they're in mint condition
14. Man: "MORE??!!!" Boy: "cowbell"
15. The drum break on Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis used to drive me nuts when it was on the radio every hour without fail. To me it sounds like somebody throwing a cardboard box down some stairs.
16. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Korg-GripTune-Clip-On-Guitar-Tuner/dp/B01BL54V4I I've got this tiny one in permanent situ on my fretless Precision. So small, light and accurate it's amazing. No flies on my intonation now either!
17.
BB King , Live And Well. Pick up a copy.
I was going to suggest this one too. Jerry Jemmott absolutely kills on it. The studio album Completely Well should be mandatory also!
18. Awesome thread 👏
19. Maybe sell the MM neck and buy a P graphite neck? Contact Status and see if you can exchange? Never know til you ask..
20. I went down this road once and a Dimarzio Model J wired in series in the neck position was as close I got. Close enough for me at the time.
21. I've just moved to D'addario EXL160BT (the 120-50 set) to tune down to C natural on my fretless, and I have to say I'm very impressed! Perfect feel and volume from every string, easy to play too. I didn't have to change the intonation at all, they were fine luckily. Not bad considering I had Labella Low Tension Flexible Flats tuned to EADG on before them! I only had to give the truss rod a quarter turn tighten and lower the saddles to 2.5mm at the 17th note (no frets!). They are holding tune very well. Very pleased, nice price too!
