Colin bought some more bits and pieces off me and again, he was a lovely chap to deal with. Nice chat on the PMs. Many thanks again Colin! I just realised that last time I left feedback for him it was on a very old feedback thread and not this active one. Sorry 'bout that!
2.
Not really haha but thanks anyway! I've just googled and a standard Schaller BM weighs 98gm so with the aluminium post I guess these will come in somewhere around 75-80gm. There, I've answered my own question!
Out of curiosity I've been to weigh one around at a friend's house on their digi scales. It actually weighed in at 61g.
3. I don't have any scales small enough to weigh them accurately sorry. In the hand one feels about the same as a Hipshot Ultralite although I expect it weighs a bit more. That's not very helpful is it? 🐒
4. A set of 5 Hipshot licenced cloverleaf Ultralites in chrome. 1/2" tuner hole (Fender) size. I had them on a Squier Vintage Modified Precision V for a short while. Rock solid tuning, as good as the USA Ultralites I've had previously. These lic Ultralites come as standard on Lakland Skylines btw. They make a huge difference to the weight and balance to a bass - over half a pound off the headstock end. They come with all the bushings and screws, ready to go. Light use, very good condition. £45 posted.
5. Brand and new still in the box Gotoh Res-o-lite GB350 insanely lightweight top quality bass tuners for 5-in-a-line Fenders. They are made from aircraft grade aluminium. Another project bites the dust so I need the funds for something else now. 50 quid posted.
6. Set of 4 brand new unused G&L USA Ultralite bass tuners, as found on (of course) all the USA G&L basses. They also fit Musicman basses as they are easily reversible to obtain the 3+1 configuration if you want to lighten the headstock end of your Stingray etc.. They fit standard MIM Fenders too. They come with all the ferrules and screws. 50 quid posted. Edit - pics added from the G&L website. Note the aluminium string posts. They feel top quality, lovely action.
7.
I'm a year into playing for a living. I'm in a bar band. I have a mortgage and bills and I'm making our with no help from anyone. Blue
Glad it's working out for you Blue. Nice to hear it still can be done full time without needing a day job to top things up. Respect to you.
8.
Something like this?? Bit of Wayman Tisdale http://youtu.be/Ihz-liqZ9IU p.s how do you guys embed a video??
Just take the 's' off 'https' in the link's address mate.

10.
Warmoth necks tend to be pretty chunky unless you specify the tapered option and the build quality is outstanding I've had 2 and both have been flawless plus they have a huge selection to choose from
Thanks man - I've now taken a punt on an Allparts neck, should be here in a couple of weeks. Will report back once I've given it a whirl.
11. Gotoh Res-o-lites now £70 Hipshot vintage 5 string bridge now £50
12. I posted recent asking about chunky P bass necks, specifically unlined fretless P bass necks. Looks like I'm going to have to get what I want made for me. I've spoken to Jon Shuker who is going to get back to me and Sims Custom who sounded good but very expensive. Any other suggestions? I'd like to weigh up the options before I dive in wallet first! Btw, I'm needing a neck an inch deep front to back - the proverbial baseball bat. I'm having some serious thumb muscle cramps on my fretting hand although my strap height is sensible, both hands and arms in the correct 'at ease' positions (no silly curls or weird angles if that makes sense!) and my technique is mindful. I remember someone on here getting their fingerboard replaced with a fretless one by somebody in Exeter ( not Manson's) I think and they sang their praises no end but I can't find that thread again for the life of me! Any suggestions most appreciated, over to you!
13. Has anyone taken the pickguard off theirs yet? Any router channelling under there or is it clean so you could leave it guardless?
14. Brilliant. Thanks for that, never heard it before. Tasty playing and gorgeous tone!
