  1. Past hour
  2. I bought one of these as a recommendation on here that they work really well for fretless and it has really transformed my tone. It's super hard to describe but it's just sort of sprinkled magic dust over it, it just sounds so much better, tighter, more balanced and a nicer voice. Mine is on all the time.
  3. Wow, that is absolutely wretched! In fairness, it's the vocals doing the most damage to the whole affair as Mohini is a fantastic bassist. The more I hear from Will Smith and his talentless kids, the more I think he was a mistake. Seriously though, those vocals, urgh. Channeling the Yoko Ono vibes.
  4. I'll have to do a proper thread for this soon, my recently acquired 2009 Dolphin Pro-I. I've wanted one of these since I was about 15, when I was first getting on Talkbass and seeing all the lovely boutique basses that were at the height of their popularity at the time. I've owned a few Warwicks over the years and played even more and this one is an absolute 10/10. More gushing praise will follow when I give it a full write-up.
  5. Here’s the finished product. Still needs a proper setup but it’s playable. I replaced the lace alumitone pickup with a Rickenbacker 4003S5 triangular style one. Had to use the cutoff Ricky pick guard to hide my adapting (butchering) of the pickup cavity for the new pickup. To say it’s ‘different’ is an understatement, but I love it. To restate what’s parts have been used. A custom built Gretschalike billy bo Thunderbird aluminium body, made by molindar in Scotland. A 2002 (Korea) Epiphone Thunderbird neck. Schaller tuners. An Ibanez AGB2005 tun-o-matic tailpiece/bridge. 2 Gretsch chrome knobs on a Kiogan wiring loom (bought for another project that never materialised) and finally the Rickenbacker pickup. I haven’t weighed it yet but it’s heavier than my Gibson non-reverse Thunderbird and Rickenbacker 4004L basses but lighter than many other basses I’ve owned. Anyway, here’s a few photos. PS. The 1964 decal on the headstock is my YOB.
  6. I’ve got the 1024 which is a great bass , that looks really nice

Collection preferred from London E2. May post at buyer expense.
  10. Oh wow, how long did that video take to make? I think that shows that you can put the pickups just about anywhere and still have a decent sound. Whether its the right sound for somebody is for them to decide. Me personally, I like the Jazz positions but I the combination of series and parallel pickups was interesting as well as split coils and reverse coils. Thats made me think. I'm so impreseed with the effort that went into that, hats off to the man for making that. Rob
  11. That is a stunning bass and takes me back to Haircut 100!

  13. The market is people like me - people who like the idea of multifx but who don't give a toss about complex routing, who like WYSIWYG controls, who hate menu diving but who want the ability to add a few different effects here and there. The ME series has long been my favourite of the Boss MFX and I suspect I'm not alone. I'm no luddite - I use Helix Native, and I've owned an HX Stomp, a Gx-100, and god knows how many other effects --- but this seems right up my street. I'm sorely tempted to order one tonight.
  14. I'm getting a bit excited over this 'one-off' BB2024 that's appeared on the 'bay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116164855449
  15. I buy the Warwick Reds from Thomann. The only problem is that is you want free postage you HAVE to spend another £140 or so on other stuff that you probably don’t necessarily need……! 😀

  17. Now that's a cool looking bass! And from a legendary Basschatter who knows a thing or two about P basses, it must be said. 😁 Very good price too.. GLWTS, Lozz 👍
