  2. Do what? Bunkum chap! You're totally right the cut gets bigger as the frequency gets lower. That's exactly what an impedance mis-match does! But look at it, EVERYTHING below 1k is significantly cut. That is a huge loss of energy at the bottom end. LUFS meter would plummet with all that meat gone! Honestly, if you could hear the audio of those signals, it was a really big difference.. like someone rolled the bass and low mid knobs on your amp down to 1. So I answered my question: YES the JOYO has a normal / general purpose (ie low) input-impedance (presumably 220kOhms). Perfect for bass guitar, or pre-amped signal, but rules out using it without a buffer/preamp/active circuitry between the piezo and the transmitter. For me. 100%. Cos otherwise it's only sending a shadow of the signal coming out of the pickup (as my ears clearly told me, and the spectrum shows). If you had to, you could EQ it to boost those missing low ends, or cut the mids and highs to level out the signal before boosting everything... but you're building a noisier, more feedbacky signal and it's all just a bit... urghh. Why throw away half your signal then try to artificially boost it back? 😆 Course it doesn't matter a jot if you HAVE got a preamp BEFORE the wireless, or active electronics... or even a mag pup like whot you got. I just want as little crap as poss hanging off my bass ... even if the Schatten MiniPre is only the size of a sardine can. 👍 I shall enjoy using the JOYO with my bass guitar, as I'd intended in the first place. Thanks for the recommendation!

  6. Seymour Duncan SCPB-3 Quarter Pound Single Coil P-Bass Pickup. I bought this new a few years ago and never used it. Postage at cost. Details here: https://www.seymourduncan.com/single-product/quarter-pound-single-coil-p-bass
  7. Great strings for reggae, Motown or any old school style. Distinctive purple silks, unused in original package. I also have a hardly used matching 5th string - 126 gauge available for an additional fiver if required. Price includes UK postage.

  8. I have taken the decision to rid myself of additional delays, fuzz effects and additional drives now that I am doing more ‘meat and potatoes’ rock music. The result is my smallest board since about 2011. Tuner, drive, compression, Sansamp. Not especially original, but it works! Forgive the cable spaghetti…

  11. Lovely job. Respectful to the original. Didn't Nick Lowe refer to one of these after getting a massive shock on stage? Probably an urban legend, unless someone else knows better. These are the lines I'm referring to from So it Goes.
  12. I can’t believe that this is still here, great cab at a bargain price, GLWTS
  13. I bought a Sub Phatty on a whim. It is proper lush!

  15. Not seeing anything in the logs here that relates to that. The 'Sorry there was a problem reacting to this content' is an error caused by mixing http and https, but I can't see why you would be doing that. if you force reload the page and click does it do the same?
  16. Quite clearly says £5600 in the title!
  17. Massive difference imo, they really do look the business, very nice
  18. Paging @Phil Starr. You seem to have a good understanding of cones and horns and the boxes they are mounted in... Andrew (above) is search for his holy grail. Failing that... he'll settle for a good reproduction of Andy Fraser's tone
  19. Hi folks. I just wanted to show an idea I developed and turned into a product having had some issues with guitar stands damaging my basses. Id love to be able to get it to market and I’d also love to hear some feedback from you guys ..
  20. The Steinberg L2 will always be the bass I wanted most but never got. It's a beautiful object. Some people used to complain the sound lacked the warmth of wood. It was supposed to! These basses had a tone all of their own and it's unique. I love it. I too remember when these basses first came out. In 1982 the UK retail was £999, and Sound wave in Essex were the sole importer. That's about £3500 in today's money. At that time I was lucky if I could muster £9.99, so it was just a dream in those days, but I passed on buying one in the late '80's and the early '90's when I easily could have, and then before you know it thirty years has passed, Steinberger are long gone and it's all ancient history. Regrets? I've had a few.
  21. I’ve had three Mustangs this year. I still have the 2023 American Performer in ‘Aubergine’ which I’ve almost sold a couple of times, but secretly I’m glad it’s still around. It’s strung with cut down Elixir 40-95’s (Fender put 40-100 on as standard) and plays & sounds phenomenal. I also had one of the Vintera II’s in “Competition Burgundy” for a while, which was a fine bass, but I didn’t like it as much as the American Performer. It came with Labella Flats which sounded very dull and had far too much tension, so I changed them for a set of Thomastik Jazz Flats I had. Better, but still don’t particularly like flat wound strings. (Don’t shoot me!) = And for about five minutes I had one of the Player series Cherry Burst P&J’s. This was the biggest disappointment. Yes, it sounded huge, but it sounded like any given P&J full sized Precision. Not at all like a Mustang. There was none of that short scale delicacy to the sound.
  22. Quite a bit, but more like a fretted guitar with very small frets, a bit disturbing at first, but after a few minutes you'll notice it's, in fact, very easy to play.
  23. Just fitted a celluloid pick guard on my p bass. Here’s a before and after photo
  24. That was my gateway to even more Dingwall multi scale lunacy! Sorry you didn’t get on with the whole fanned fret thing but having been lucky enough to now own a Canadian Dingwall I can confirm that a Combustion will get you 90% of the way there for less than a third of the price.
