  1. Ashley is Andrew Bond's son. I think he's planning power supplies at some stage He reckons they're a bit overpriced at the moment- it would be interesting to see if it sells!
  2. A prototype, I think. I've only ever seen one other, played by Mick Jones near the end of his days with The Clash (its on youtube somewhere) . then he went on to use a 'normal'(?) Electraglide with BAD. It works well, but easier to slide up the neck than down. I think they would have been more popular if the electronics ( which mine hasn't got. and never had!) had been more reliable, and if Andrew Bond hadn't died, and had been able to develop more reliable models. Mine has the stepped neck, and passive electrics - perhaps he should have stayed with that. Update. Dave Gilmour's Bond prototype sold for £37,000! Shame mine hasn't got the same provenance.( Not that I'd sell it...) Also, just ordered a spare fingerboard (just in case...) directly from Ashley Bond.

  4. Found in a guitar shop about 10 years ago..... I had to buy it!
  5. I'm not averse....... they have had some great players over the years. good to see the return of Paul Gray.
  6. Iremember their ads... always loads of interesting stuff.. but I don't think they were too bothered where it all came from.
  7. ..... mine must be a rare 'straight neck' version!
  8. Good once its tuned - a task in itself!
  9. REQUIRED Shergold Marathon 8 string - now happily fully strung and reunited with its volume and tone knobs!Finish is badly cracked - the same as any other Shergold I've come across. Anyone know where I can get a truss rod cover? Size
  10. I'm in sunny Stratford -upon -Avon.. and yes, I must check out the next 'Bass Bash'.
  11. Hi, Dave here, West Midlands bassist with far too much gear... or, conversely, not enough. Can't resist a bargain
  12. Hmmmm.... must learn how to edit pics......
  13. It was Sunday..... you can't be expected to dress properly on a Sunday..... and I had photos to take!!
  14. Thanks! With a user name like yours I hope you appreciate the sound of the bass/ Hiwatt combination.
  15. Back in 1978,I bought my first, and far from last,(not got there yet!) bass. It was a sunburst jazz copy sporting 'Maya Electric Bass' on the headstock. I've still got it, after a fashion, as its now got Schaller tuners, Di Marzio pickups, and(as far as I remember) a Fender bridge - not forgetting the Triumph Dolomite yellow paint job! forty years later, another bass became available -a fretless sunburst precision, again with 'Maya Electric Bass' on the head. I had to buy it- the necks are great, and the pickups not bad either. Needless to say, this one is staying stock. anyone else got one?
