The good news is that when you do find that place, you might find a couple of missing socks and a fiver.

I mean, don't get me wrong, Breezysports are usually my first port of call for music news but, this time, I fear they dropped the ball. Perhaps it's... windy... out there.

I think it’s my absolute favourite board. Keep thinking about ditching the BCB1000 and just having 2 of these

Stentor Conservatoire. Advice Please 🙏
Beer of the Bass replied to JazzyJ's topic in EUB and Double Bass
Hmm, yeah, I suppose we don't want to derail too much from the OP and his bass. I quite liked those Stentors when I've tried them, though the stock endpin isn't long enough for my height and where I like the bass to sit. The ones I'd played seemed quite articulate for pizz playing, possibly the petite shoulders and proportions help with that. And setup-wise there are points in between high tension steels and the lowest tension rockabilly slap strings, you don't have to go all the way to one end or the other if you want to explore a range of styles and still be slap-friendly. Someone else will have more specific reputations, I'm firmly I'm the Spirocore camp and don't have much experience outside of it! -
Hi all Tricky one to price this so feel free to message if you think I’m wildly wrong in either direction. It’s a wicked P bass that I’ve had for quite a while, fully Japanese early 90s (Fujigen) made. Weighs in at only 3.6kg. The neck is from a PB-62US, with the big reverse tuners, dark rosewood board and 60s logo. There’s a bit of a flame to the maple on certain lights. 44mm nut. The body is from a Squier Silver Series Precision Bass SPB33 (stamped in the neck pocket). These are great basses which I have another of. I believe electronics and pickup are original, the tone control is great, lots of options across the range rather than just on/off that you often get. Condition: Body, pretty worn and some chips to the finish, you can see some lines where the 3pc body joins together in certain lights. It’s looks great and has a nice genuine ‘relic’ vibe to it. The pickup poles and screws have a bit of rust on them but nothing that affects the sound Neck: Probably better condition than the body, lots of minor dents and dings but fair condition for a 30+ year old neck. The PB62US P Basses go for £1000+ and the silver series squiers look to be around £500 so I’m starting this at £650 but open to offers - a chance to get a great workhorse P bass with a high end Japanese neck for much cheaper than you otherwise would. Any questions, give me a shout. Shipping possible but collection preferred from Chessington or Central London. Thanks Dan

Is this the guy in Finland? If it is, then I have one of his creations in a Wal style. Very nice bass. He posted on the US bass site a good many times under the MPU name, I believe.

I find it amazing in this day & age, where everyone carries a calendar with them (in their phone) all the time, that it takes some so long to reply with availability. Look at calendar, reply, not the hardest task of the day.

Did it! Wooo. Just thought about Top Gun incidental music… Yamaha BB414, Yamaha AES800b guitar. hangover, tea and Battenberg. and no…I can’t get the long working; why break the habit of a lifetime https://on.soundcloud.com/BSQxU5CAoHXxMLYvkt

Probably been said already, but it sounds like a professionalism issue on the part of the musicians who don't bother to commit to the idea.

This might sound silly but have you tried a smaller tip? Ive always gone for the largest in the past. Ram it in and it will stay put, only I find it doesn't quite go in as far as it should. When I went down a size I found the tip would go a bit further in to the ear canal, and the fit was more secure. it also meant the IEM could sit a bit more secure in the ear.

It's a superb example of Carol Kaye's bass of choice from 2002. These don't come up too often. Condition is remarkable for the age. It's even got the plastic film on the cavity covers. It's Korean-built and we know they know how to do neck-through properly. The build quality is stunning as is the grain of the ash wings. The neck profile is what I'd call slim modern J. Controls are: Vol, Blend, Treble, Bass. It's been deep cleaned and set up beautifully (med/low) with D'Addario EXL170BT strings. that's a balanced tension set. As per all my rosewood board instruments, it's been treated with Montypresso. Frets are level and polished to 7000 grit. All electronics have been checked and all pots cleaned. New battery fitted today. Truss rod is perfect. It's 4.4kg. I've got proper packaging and am happy to ship insured at buyers expense, which will be about £30. If you're undecided and fancy trying it out, I can usually accommodate a try-out with some notice weekdays or weekends.
