I used to gig aBF Compact, but missed the added 200Hz ‘boom’ that my older, shitter cabs used to give me, so went back to an Ampeg 4x10”. Then I realised that I’d stopped using said cabs due to weight and bulk, so I made myself a 1x12” that ticks all of the boxes.

Im having a bit of a strap clearest, so here we have 4 Minotaur straps and one Jack Daniels branded strap for your perusal. They are in various stages of used condition, with some more so than others. I've tried to reflect this in the photos. £15 each or £50 for the lot plus postage, however I'm open to offers. Thanks!

@ordep nice to see someone else with a GP-5 and MXR Bass Synth on the same board 😉. I can't see the wiring, do you have them in a chain? yes mate, just in series according to their placement on the board. My needs are simple. 🙂

DR Dragonskin strings for my Spector. Nice bright, zingy tone and they feel nice. Boss CEB3 Chorus pedal. Put infront of my Two Notes Revolt, a bit of chorus with the dirt channel engaged on the preamp, absolutely disgusting tone. It really makes the distortion stand out and adds a nice bit of bottom end.

Is there anything recommended around the £50-70 mark? I want to teach myself to solder - in all honesty I really don't want to spend £200 on something that I'm not going to use a great deal but at the same time I don't want to buy garbage. It would be purely for soldering bass electronics and nothing else and I like the idea of a soldering station with a temperature control but if someone could recommend a soldering iron which operates at the best temperature for this type of work then I'd be happy with that as well. I've made the mistake over the years of buying rubbish and wondering why it was rubbish so want something good enough to make a decent job of soldering stuff.

I had missed this album as my mind was elsewhere and Marsalis had lost me for a while with his 'trad' phase but the 1009 album 'From The Plantation To The Penitentiary' is another absolute masterpiece. The tune 'Supercapitalism' is an incredibly complex composition wonderfully executed but its the tempo changes that are all over the place. The secret is to trust the pulse. The time signatures change but the tempo doesn't (much). Listen to the tune with the chart in front of you and you will soon get the idea. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/supercapitalism-wynton-marsalis/

@ordep nice to see someone else with a GP-5 and MXR Bass Synth on the same board 😉. I can't see the wiring, do you have them in a chain? I do at the mo, but am going to build an experimental compact, nofrills 2nd board where they will be in parallel, not series, having got a couple of small AB/Y switches to do the job. I want to be able to blend the two sounds independently, without either pedal processing the audio of the other. Am I right in guessing lots of BCers have done this with two (or more) independent chains? @javi_bassist sure, its a simple and cheap** way to add PRE bass to my IEMs with, or without, the band IEM mix. Specifically the headphone amp (MA400) blends any incoming IEM signal (from the band IEM mixer or FOH, if available) on Monitor Input with a PRE bass signal direct on Mic Input from my GigaPro wireless receiver (it has 3 identical jack outs + DI XLR). Via the back patch panel, my board outputs PRE and POST over DI: usually POST to FOH and PRE to the band IEM mixer. As my IEM transmitter has stereo inputs, theoretically I don't need a mixer, because it could be bass on L and band on R, but that wouldn't be anywhere near optimal, as it would offer no personal mix control and some gigs there is no band IEM signal. Here's a schematic of the audio flow. ** cheap The personal IEM TX/RX was a second hand "the t.bone" off eBay for £65 and the MA400 mixer was £15 new.
