A somewhat unlikely combination of players and song but here you go! (I'm reminded Jeff did sub for Tony Levin on the ABWH UK tour.) Enjoy...

Hi everyone, I'm selling my Origin Effects DCX Bass Preamp & Overdrive, which is in almost new condition and comes with the original box and papers. This pedal is fantastic! It can be used as a preamp for recording or for directly connecting to an interface. Additionally, it works great as an overdrive/distortion pedal. It offers numerous voicing options and has an active EQ for both the low and high frequencies. This pedal is a wonderful addition to Origin's Bass Rigs and sounds particularly good in front of the Bass Rig 64, providing extra drive and saturation. I've also enjoyed using it as a tone shaper when recording; it allows you to really mould your sound, whether you prefer an old-school vibe or a more modern, hi-fi tone. I may regret selling it, but I want to explore other options. The journey never stops! I am also interested in trades (+cash from me if needed): a power supply like Cioks DC7 or Strymon Zuma (I need at least 7 outputs) a chorus pedal, preferably a Boss Waza Craft Dimension C, but I can look at other options pedal loopers/switchers (to switch pedals in/out of the loop) Free insured postage in the UK, or we can meet in London. Thanks for looking!

Is it too late to sign up for this? Ive been meaning to come for a few years and am hopefully free this year! I don't know if I'm being dumb but I can see the date and the address but not the times. I'm happy to bring a few bits along. Cheers

Think I'll have to drop into Andertons and do a test between the Digitech Drop and this for accuracy/latency. I will never need it much below dropping to D standard anyway but I've never been 100% satisfied with the Drop pedal...

Anyone played the Walthamstow Trades Hall?
dave_bass5 replied to dave_bass5's topic in General Discussion
Thanks Pete. I guess I’ll have to take some of ours with us. Some of us use IEM, but i in particular need to as I’m playing keys without an amp. i can plug my IEM’s in to a small mixer but not sure how I’ll hear the others. Lots of workarounds but won’t know until on the night. -
Unfortunately, I can’t manage a full scale Rickie these days: the necks are too wide and the overall weight is too great (even the rare walnut ones), so that severely limits choice. The old 3000 series SS look like proper shorties, although they were not a shrunk down 4000 series, which is what would have appealed to me about 4030. However, I’m sure I could get my local luthier to make me a custom Rick-alike shortie, or even have a go at it myself, for much less than the 4030s are likely to sell for.

If there's that cap, I stronly suggest you to replace one with a bypass switch pot. Bridge pu is unnecessary thin if the cap is there as always ON.

Weird coincidence. On the day that it was announced G&L were no more, a scrote in France stole all The Beths's touring gear, including the G&L Fallout that Liz Stokes has been playing since the band started. They're all playing Fenders for the rest of the tour, borrowed off their support act.

The G&L humbucker basses / active basses are ridiculously powerful. Really good instruments.

Bass Centre Power Bass in Gold - Custom Ordered to Bruce Thomas Power Bass Spec - Precision Bass Copy This bass was a special order from The Bass Centre as a gold (you are gold.....aaaaaaaah!) version of their much loved Bruce Thomas Profile Bass. As SITE regulations were in full effect at the time of the order, a Macassar Ebony fingerboard was opted as a substitute for the Rosewood one that came with the Bruce Thomas model at the time. In addition, a matching gold headstock was ordered. This created a blessing in disguise in that the admittedly 'wanting' Bass Centre logo is not as visible as they opted for dark blue version. Unlike the Profile Bass, this one features a slightly flatter radius and a lightly oiled (back of the) neck which reminds me A LOT of Laklands in feel and aesthetics. In comparison to my Profile Bass, and this is likely a product of the ebony fingerboard, this is slightly more snappy proposition. It's offers more 'bite' than 'wooly' hugs on the sonic front. But, when you tame the tone pot down a bit, the woolly mammoth is returns and can be unleashed. It's a well balanced instrument. And it looks the part. More importantly, the playability is outstanding. This enjoyed a full fret level and set-up by Alberto Zioli and it plays like butter. Or margarine if that's your jam. This bass comes with a gig bag that is 'ok'. The bass that you'll be putting into the case, however, is outstanding. The instrument resides in East London. Collection is preferred although I can meet the new owner within the confines of the M25. In addition, I am happy to send the bass provided the buyer co-ordinates the courier.

Played there earlier this year. I think they provided 3 monitors: right, left and centre on the stage apron. There is a sound guy there who sets everything up and operates it. -

My frends really awful band - advice needed
Hellzero replied to Uncle Rodney's topic in General Discussion
The shīt sandwich worked very well, it's been accepted and, especially, assessed as my best mate, who is also a manager, is aware of all these inherent problems in the band. And what I said was pure honesty, so the compliments were real and sincere, which certainly explained why it worked. That said, I've been a medical advisor for years and know how to manage people's susceptibility, but only up to a point where it becomes useless, so sometimes (most of the time for me as I'm a bit fed up by the stupid politically correct period we're living) it's good to say the plain truth even if it hurts. -

You pick up the issue in your reply - it's not R&D but brand positioning

Totally agree with you. I have dropped my ABM and the wooden sleeve saved me big time. Saying that, the all-metal cover looks damn cool in my opinion. I see they've removed the AGM model from their line-up, which is sad as they looked rather nice. Actually, they sold two similar AGM amps, one in a wooden enclosure, one in a metal one. Was that Ashdown testing the waters?
