  2. Thanks very much for recommending this one, really enjoyed giving it a go yesterday, it’s a great Bassline and I used my 71 P with foam under the bridge which sounded great, the intro took me a while and this video helped me with the changes , great cover
  3. Epiphone thunderbird classic pro, neck through with the Gibson USA TB pickups, nice and light at 8.5lbs. Lovely low action with a 38mm nut width it plays very nicely, a few minor marks here and there but still a really smart looking bass. Hard case with a key. The best of the Epi 'birds now discontinued. Pick up from Nr Plymouth, or courier at cost I guess around £20. Happy to drive an hour or so for a meet up if it's helpful.

  4. On the OP, for as long as I can remember I've tinned the bare copper when I wire a plug. Always felt a well tinned cable end will be stronger than splayed copper strands. Doesn't really make any difference to electrical performance, does it? Also, I'll tin the ends of speaker cables for the hifi as well.
  5. Nice to see a few have landed 'over there' and folls getting to play them. I got my serial# 14 here in the US the week they were announced. Here is a gig pic, also with my 2025 Wal Mk1 for an 80s gig.
  6. Out of the blue 8am yesterday i got a call from an old band i was in approx 10 yrs ago but we have kept in touch to see if i was busy that night. Unfortunately i was gigging. Another Glam covers band too. Dave
  7. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  8. I'm tempted with this one: https://fenderfever.com/products/fender-hama-okamoto-signature-precision-bass-2016-3-color-sunburst-1?_pos=13&_fid=d06b40056&_ss=c What do you Bass chatters reckon - good deal?
  9. Ouch that finger doesn't look good. I started to use my 3rd finger on occasion as finger relief. Mostly index and middle finger but its handy having that spare finger 😂 I started it more out of curiosity but it kinda stuck. Not that i use it a lot to be honest. Liking that bass. Dave
  10. When I purchased my Washburn status from macaris in Charing Cross Road/ Denmark street back in the day, I paid full price. However I did get a nice padded gig bag ( which lasted many years) and a load of picks emptied from their jar! Paying in cash helped I guess.🙂 It’s a shame that I never purchased another gig bag as it was the perfect fit . Made by Levnson ..
  11. Morning all, I've been trying to move on a bass on eBay here in Germany. So far, the only interest has been from people wanting me to deliver it. I prefer people try an instrument out before buying. Anyway, I decided to trawl the net a bit, just to see if my pricing was in the right ballpark. Imagine my surprise.... My ad on Small Ads followed by... @rsewipes unlimited ad. Notice how they started with my original price and then reduced it to there's.
  12. This topic is most useful . I’ll be looking for something myself in the not too distant ! A friend of mine has a drummers stool , which might be something to consider also. I think it’s made by protection racket 🤔
  13. No probs, they are a big of a marmite brand tbf. GLWTS
  14. Perfect for storing a Trace Elliot TE1200 and other similar sized amp heads. GLWTS!
  15. I’ve resisted the temptation!

  17. Ordered a 1L tin from Penn Elcom. Will look at what rollers are best for pattern so any suggestions welcomed. Finally had a day of clear weather so managed to get outside to cut things and create quite a lot of sawdust. The speaker cab is almost there, port hole made and the printed version fits in nicely. The speaker hole looks great (even if I do say so myself), the router and the home made adapter works a treat. The marks from the circular saw will disappear as I'll gently sand and it's coming to be covered with black Armacab. I also cut the hole for the spray cabinet extractor fan and the power switch. Not wired up yet but that's not a big deal. Got 5m of extractor hose that will go on the extractor fan so it takes a load of the fumes and spray away. Todays job is doing the rear connector panel and probably soldering wires in. It's also raining. A few questions: I'm unsure how to mount the rear connector panel. Should I just put foam tape on the inside and squash it down to seal it and that's the gasket to reduce leaks. If so I'd probably need to recess the panel so it doesn't stick out too much. I feel I could do that now I've had some practise with the router. I could just put sealant on the underside and squash that. Not sure of the best way. Should I use screws or bolts for the rear panel? I can put an M3 bolt through and a lock nut on the other side. Not sure which is best. I have both so it's not an issue Should the loudspeaker be bolted in or screwed in? It appears to have quite a dense foam on the front and rear of the Fane speaker. So assuming that I don't need any more foam around that? Should I put silicone sealant all around the inside of the speaker where the batterns are? I think there is a lot of glue but cant guarantee its 100% I'm intending to solder the internal wires to the speaker. I've seen comments on using spades but can't see any issues with solder myself. The reason I'm asking these is that I can't do bolts on both systems as I lose access as the front and rear panels go on. So am assuming that screws are probably the way to go, possibly with some sealant to help lock them in? Thanks Rob

  19. I've got some on a Sire GB5 electroacoustic which is more like a hybrid bass with just a Piezo pickup and they sound sublime. I've tried the golds too but definitely favour the copper.
  20. Hi, As listed, Boss OC2 ( Taiwan), MXR phase 90 and Korg pitch-black in a Boss BCB 30 pedal board box. Mains adapter and Rean pancake jacks. I'd rather sell complete, £200 collected as the items can be demonstrated. Thanks for viewing Martin

  21. I got it for £169 used as new off Ebay and they are generally £299 new in Stores in the UK.
  22. That would be my vote! Love my SB700!
  23. We had a crowd, however it was awkward.Nice room, nice stage and sound. We bought our own lighting. Like I said this place is more for the Saturday night party bands. There were a few "screw ups" musically . Good paying gig and some nice tips. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BTJQAGVN2/ Daryl
  24. Decided to join in with the pedal riser idea and build a little essentials board. With a bit of judicious wiggling I've managed to get it all flush on three sides, but the DC plugs overhang just slightly at the top. Could be worse. The feet have been harvested from my old Markbass F1 which sadly expired recently. It can be powered from both a standard adapter and also a USB powerbank thanks to an ENGL PowerTap Portable which is the little block under the back edge. As long as the polarity is correct it'll take anything from 5-18v input and send 9v output. For the full wireless whatsit I was considering getting a pair of cheap UHF bugs from the Black Friday sales to go between board and amp. They claim less than 3ms latency, which added to my Fender Telepath on the input claiming 4ms, should still be perfectly acceptable. The yellow sticker is just 'if lost please call' info, but I'm old-school about putting my mobile number all over the Internet so blanked it, in case you were wondering what/why.
  25. The exact phrase that popped into my head when I saw this 😂 GLWTS and the new business @millar138
