Status 40th Limited Edition Series 2000 - reduced to 7500£
Rondoggy replied to headless101's topic in Basses For Sale
Just a small point. This is one of the limited edition series, not the the 40th anniversary series that had a special logo and LEDs. More faithful to the originals, almost as rare as the 40th and personally I'd prefer this beauty to one with a 40th anniversary logo on it. If this was in the UK I'd be on the way with cash in hand, after a bit of negotiation 😉. GLWTS, and I hope you feel better soon. -
An experienced and trained friend sounds fully qualified to give some pointers. My guess is you'll tell a few people you play double bass and will be out gigging by May.

I have just moved on my EBS Classic Session 60 which I think is a perfect practice amp. Sounds like a proper bass amp, stereo in, headphones and DI out, makes a good stage monitor and can go loud enough to annoy other family members.

I'd recommend the Jura, I find it really addictive. I'll persevere with the Stems, perhaps it was user error.

Im glad that melted plastic whale shaped single cuts won't be something you'll be doing! The less of them the better. It was mainly just about say changing electronics. For example, Hamers are (mainly) DC35s and a EMG BTS system. They did a few explorers and if one were to want something more akin to that than say Gibson type pickups. That was really where I was going. Or wiring the dual outputs more like a Rick with one being stereo and the other mono as another example which if the bass remained passive isn't that difficult. Frankly, I think your work is fantastic and were I to be in the market, I'd definitely be up for ordering from you.

When times were hard and I had to downsize my bass collection, I rented it out to the US military to facilitate their extra judicial rendition programme. -

Anyone solder wires into mains plugs?
basstone replied to Steve Browning's topic in Repairs and Technical
Fairly common stress point where a cable goes through a gland, also happens on mains cable reels where the cable goes into the centre hub. This shows perfectly why we should regularly inspect our gear for safety or better still get it PAT tested which can also reveal hidden issues before they get seriously dangerous! As to soldering rewireable mains plugs - they're not designed for that and best to either use crimped finger terminals or just twist and double back the stripped conductors. In my experience moulded plugs are much more reliable although do watch out for dodgy oriental imports with insulated earth pins. -
