  3. Nice @Wilco - top class elements there. There’s something about that MXR, I should never have got rid of mine etc 😬
  4. There's a Peavey T-40 pickup in my DeArmond Jet Star, if that counts? I didn't do the clever tone control thing though, just a simple switch for series/single.
  5. Phil Jones Bighead Pro HA2 for sale. Bought from new from Bassdirect and had it about a year I think. Looking for £200. Includes postage. I'm based in Cambridge. Here is some detail about the unit plus a photo or two and a link to a Youtube video. Mobile High Performance Multi-Function Headphone Amplifier/Digital Audio Interface The HA-2 is the second model in the Bighead series and is a step up model of the popular HA-1 Bighead with added technology and features. The HA-2 is a high resolution USB audio interface that supports PCM playback with up to 384 KHz sample rate/24 bit resolution. On DSD playback, sample rates of 2.822MHzand 5.644 MHz are supported, making it the ideal choice for musicians and engineers that desire high performance and the purest sound quality. It is a rechargeable lithium ion dynamo that is ideal for use in practice or recording situations. It also functions as a headphone booster amp as well as a preamp to drive powered amplifiers. The HA-2 has both passive and active instrument inputs with a 2 band EQ that is ideal for guitar and bass, yet versatile enough for use with other instruments. It has an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is fed by its USB jack, so any computer or appropriate cell phone charger can charge it in less than 3 hours, but it can play for up to 8 hours. 6. Bought a Ally Venable CD from @Mickeyboro, smooth and easy deal as usual, great comms and quick delivery John 😎
  7. I'm going to steal this phrasing.
  8. It comes in handy for Hotel California too.
  9. Such a clean looking bass
  10. I awake from hibernation this coming weekend! If you're in or near Aberdeen or Peterhead, get off your fat one, come to one of my gigs and heckle me! Friday 23rd it's original music time with The Inevitable Teaspoons at Drummonds in Aberdeen. Music from from 8.45pm (we're on about 10.30pm), free entry. https://www.facebook.com/events/1393956658848714 Then Saturday 24th it's rock/indie covers time with Nine Lives at The Harbour Lights in Peterhead. Free entry, music 9-12. The snow's gone, you've got no excuse!
  11. Unfortunately I have been too busy working on mixes for existing songs and finishing off the arrangements on new songs started last year to have spent any serious time with it yet. The only thing I have worked out so far is that the synth part will be of very limited use to me since my Bass VI playing is far too polyphonic.
  12. Oh brother i just love seeing the future compact out in the wild! Thanks man x
  13. Not connected either to wifi or bluetooth. Inputs: - Stereo in from PC - plus a couple inputs from Zoom (for drums) and bass via GX10. Was coming through both speakers.
  14. Slow Loud & Banging - Chamillionaire
  15. Oh thats really bad, I assumed you meant just like the occasional pop or click. Is it on one side or is it both? oh I see what you mean, it appears as a signal on all inputs. Are those inputs plugged into anything. It does rule out the speakers, and I would think it either has to be the power supply or the unit itself. Is it connected to any bluetooth / wifi at this point?
  16. I work on a commercial basis with lots of the UK’s largest charities. Work organised by the charity mostly on commercial terms with a small (and discretionary) discount. We offer 25% off for example. There’s a big difference for fundraising events. These are typically organised by people to raise cash for a charity. These are often where you’ll be asked to work for free and organisation may not be as good.
  17. I have the long-scale version in Olympic White. If the S/S version is anywhere near as good, this is a real bargain. I hope your "hold" comes to fruition or - to put it another way - GLWTS!
  18. I’ve actually grown to love the tight string spacing…horses for courses
  19. That's a very generous offer, Sir. Thank you 👍
  20. The point is that the Ric ones switch out the tone cap with the pickup, so they're not both in-circuit all the time.
  21. And after 30 mins of fettling - simplicity.
  22. If you can find one…you can’t have mine…..but very happy to let you try it when in my neck of the woods.
  23. Owned 72 Peavey basses, from all models released between 1978 and 2010. My 5 string DynaBass was some gunmetal grey finish. Can't say I was too impressed by Peavey's decision to stick a pickup designed for 4 string basses into a 5'er. Was the early 90's before they got around to having an actual 5 string pickup. 2nd gen DynaBass and 2nd gen TL-5 were improvements IMHO. Look how tight 5 strings are on the Ferrites compared to my 2nd Gen TL-5
  24. Mmmm....Me thinks I might need to check one out 🤔 Thanks for that 👍
