  2. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1B7gx42NgM/? the real deal for £1500 if I was £1450 richer…
  3. Zoom Ultra Fuzz UF-01: Had one years ago and had some nostalgic curiosity. Just as good as I remember and not super keen to get rid, but there's other things I want and with 85 DIY pedals on the shelves, I have a strict one in one out policy on branded pedals... For those who don't know, the ultra fuzz was something of a hidden gem - often very wrongly considered a fuzz factory clone, it's absolutely anything but. Can do noisy squeals but also does very rich dense heavy distortion. This one is in absolutely immaculate condition, with box. Price is £125 and includes postage with adequate insurance. Pickup available from Sheffield or Leeds also an option Zoom MS-70CDR+ Multistomp Now the other end of the Zoom spectrum, the new version of the Chorus, Delay, Reverb multistomp pedal. Just not using it enough to keep, it's genuinely amazing but I've just got my sounds settled with other pedals. Had from new and never left the desk, absolutely immaculate with box. £90 posted with adequate insurance.

  4. Wise words from @Supernaut and @jd56hawk if I wasn’t a five string convert, I’d be all over a squier CV or probably several
  5. Ooh. This looks fun. I shall get it 🙂
  6. I remember the first time I heard Danny play on something and was struck by the fantastic tone emanating from the stereo. It was David Sylvian’s Ink in the Well. That was back in the mid ‘80s and still no one else has come close to having a tone that good to my ears. We were blessed to have had him and are bereft now that he has gone. However, we’ll always have that tone on a recording somewhere. RIP, Danny, we’ll not likely see your like again.
  7. Good innit.
  8. I used to be obsessive about this sub forum. I have relaxed a bit about it more recently. But it still brings the same emotions up for me. "I did this Then I did this Then this happened Then I did this And then this beautiful bass appeared." How is this even a thing? How can people get wood and turn them into playable instruments? Crazy madness.
  9. I had a Nemesis 410, very loud, good sound, plus nice & light.
  10. Good advice about re-visiting the mics and I also would keep the XR18 if you are happy with it. Actually it's all good advice going active adds almost no weight to the cabs and having amps matched to the speakers they are driving with dynamic protection gives you extra headroom and a foolproof/no worries set up as well as better sound. The good thing about that sort of budget is that you can move to the sort of 'stick' systems that work. One local band use the FBT Vertus VT1000 system. I've seen them do gigs with just one set for a medium sized pub gig and it sounded epic. With a pair you'd have something supremely portable and very competent. Vocals are really well presented and a step up from most bands. https://www.fbtaudio.co.uk/fbt-audio/portable-sound/full-systems/vertus-series/vt1000.htm Another similar alternative would be the RCF NXL24 https://www.thomann.co.uk/rcf_nxl_24_a_mk2.htm another small column/line source speaker which would need subs. I heard these when I bought my RCF 745's which are another great speaker for a band. I have to say that next to each other I was disappointed with the 745's and was almost put off buying them. That was with the RCF 8003 subs which would be above your budget and was way above mine at the time. I've promised myself that if my latest band do start getting better gigs then the NXL 24's will be my next step, paired with RCF 905 subs.
  11. Today
  12. Ok - I just think of them as a headless.
  13. Horrified - Repulsion
  14. Agreed. On to the next one. Daryl
  15. Hiya - is the Aguilar AG700 still available by any chance?
  16. SIT Foundations NPS 45-105 Used for project bass, now disassembled. Cut for Fender style head. Approximately 20 hours play time. Like Dunlop Superbrights? You'll love these. £12.50 posted.
  17. For sale is a set of EMG J Jazz Bass pickups for 4 string bass. Comes with the solderless controls and wiring kit. Doesn't include the Jazz control plate sorry, using this just to keep it all together safely for the moment. I think I threw the box away but can package them securely and all instructions are available from the EMG website. Had these in my Jazz Bass for a year and saw very little use as I tend to gig mainly 5 string and precision basses. Decided I wanted to change back to passive pickups, so these are up for sale. Great sounding pickups and completely noiseless!

  19. For sale is my Rockboard Quad 4.1 pedlaboard fitted with the Rockboard Mod 1 patchy bay. Used this as my pedalboard for the last 5 years and it has been great, very light but sturdy and very easy to build a good pedalboard with. It's covered in velcro that can of course be removed. Also included is a Pedaltrain gig bag that came with the Pedaltrain that I recently bought. There is a small hole in the case which I've pictured and doesn't include the shoulder strap but other than that it's never been used. This could probably be stitched or glued back together... not that I'm an arts and crafts expert though! It just happens to fit the rockboard Quad 1 perfectly so thought I would list it as one whole thing.
  20. They became independent from Fender in 1991 and started producing the Factor basses themselves again. They're still going and are producing Factors on a to-order basis, although Phillip Kubicki himself died in 2013.
  21. Clearing out a lot of stuff that is just sitting in boxes under my desk. For sale is my EBS Microbass in Bass preamp and DI. Bought it on here a few years ago and used it for a number of tours for FOH and practice at home until it started to momentarily cut out on channel A intermittently but never for long, but long enough to not want to use it for live. Amazing sounding preamp and speaker sim and incredibly versatile. Probably could be used as a practice solution for somebody or perhaps somebody with tech knowledge or an interest in repairing things could fix it. £75 delivered.

  22. It really is a great pedal
  23. Decided to put up my awesome (and unfortunately no longer made) Spector LT5 in Violet Fade for sale. This has been my main touring bass for the last two years and has seen some action at Glastonbury, Green Man and many more festivals that I can't even remember! Despite being my main bass I have really looked after the bass and it's in excellent condition. No dings or dents just light surface scratches that every guitar gets from being played! The bass has a 3 piece maple neck with alder body wings and a very nice flamed maple top, which is almost holographic and almost impossible to photo! 😂 The bass has a very nice ebony fingerboard, MOP Spector crown inlays, Gotoh lightweight tuners, brass nut, Dunlop straplocks, Custom wound to Spector spec Bartolini pickups and Darkglass preamp, and thr finish is so good it's ridiculously reflective and shiny.. again making it difficult to take good photos! The bass plays very nicely and sounds phenomenal. The bass is 35" scale and the low B is the best I've experienced on a high end bass. Currently strung with Dunlop Super Bright Steels. Sale includes the Spector gig bag. Looking for £1800 due to excellent condition and I think collection is needed. I have the boxes it came in but I don't feel comfortable shipping it without a hardcase.
