It's just that some people on BC participate in Secret Santa - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/296150-well-jingle-my-bellsits-time-for-basschat-secret-santa-already/ - and that some of those again follow the idea of having a pic of the secret santa gift as their avatar - traditionally until the end of January, but I've seen many examples of people keeping the avatar for a whole year. Simply right-click the avatar in question and open it in a new window. Then copy the resulting URL into your Ad Blocker's banned list. You'll never see it again. I like to think Its also a bit of a nod to rufus thomas, as that was the song he defied all the police and organizers requests of trying too keep all the predominantly black audience in their seats.
