Always thought about coming but as everyone seems to know what they are doing basswise and I have difficulty playing root notes I've always bottled it
If I did come I'd bring my GUS G3 retro and Parker Fly PB51 and a couple of Ibanez RB850's from the 1980's (if they haven't sold by then) if anyone was interested?

Really don't worry about that my friend When I first went to the SE bash I had only been learning bass for about 9 months and I didn't know one end of the bass from the other. I really was quite terrified TBH, as I didn't really know what to expect and was afraid the place would be full of prancing rock gods who would sneer at me and jostle me in the corridors (well maybe not quite)

Anyway, I plucked up courage and was really glad I went. I learned a lot and made some friends.

I'm still a novice compared to the rest of them, so if you come along you won't be the only root note specialist in the room!

[/quote] I wouldn`t worry about it. I went last year, and was in the same position, and i am still not much better. I found it really interesting, with all the workshops that were laid on, and see all the gear that people have. You will have a great time, and worth every penny of the entrance fee. You are not expected to play anything, so you can take that worry away. People will always give you advice.

I have one with an expression pedal too (courtesy of Dood). I'm not 100% that I'll be able to attend due to family commitments but if I can I'll try to swing by for a "sticky-beak" and if necessary I can lend you the pedal.
