0353203 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) Hi All, Up for sale is my 100% stock 1957 Fender Precision Bass with its original hard case & key, strap, cleaning cloth and hang tag. This one has been in my collection for some time, but needs must. Its a great and rare example of the first major redesign P bass with (amongst other significant changes) gold anodised aluminium pickguard, split pickup with raised A pole pieces and larger headstock. It certainly has signs of playwear both front and rear body and also on the rear of the neck near the 8th fret where it must have been leant against an amp on a consistent basis. However, it is still in fantastic overall condition given its vintage (as is the original Koylon case), plays wonderfully well and sounds the business. Obviously this is a serious investment bass and so very happy for anyone to visit to play / check her out. I will also consider trades involving other vintage Fenders plus cash. Cheers, Si Edited August 4, 2014 by 0353203
FunkyFresh Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 You might not see it, but I am just bowing down to this one. GLWTS!
Happy Jack Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 You've surpassed yourself this time, Simon. That's just magnificent.
eevespete Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Absolutely stunning. Best of luck with the sale, you will not need it!

Hutton Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 This would be a year of birth bass for me. Unfortunately, the value of my current basses together doesn't even come close to £8500. It's great to see a '57' in such great condition. Best of luck with the sale!

I would have bought it but 9/57 is the wrong month Coincidentally, I was looking at a YoB tractor recently and it was a fraction of that price. Didn't buy that either
Roger2611 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 hubba hubba come on Euro millions numbers don't let me down!

Paul S Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Wow. Just Wow. YOB bass for me, too. I'll have to settle for a 57 re-issue, though.
howdenspur Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Another '57 YOB here too. A thing of great beauty. Just lovely.
cameltoe Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Oh lord.... The only reservation I have (apart from a lack of cash!) is I would never be able to play it. Are you leaning it in the ground in one photo??? And does your heart rate not rise when you're removing all the parts for pics??
deepbass5 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I don't think these electric basses will catch on, I'll pass
william64 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 When comparing to my heavily battered '65, this beauty looks like NOS: Congratulations to whoever grabs her.
