Bilbo Posted July 2, 2014 Share Posted July 2, 2014 I was just reading the Allanah Myles thread and it occured to me how much I have always loved so much of the Rock music that come out of Canada; Rush, Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush, Max Webster, Kim Mitchell, Bachman–Turner Overdrive, Alanis Morrissette, Avril Lavigne, Bruce Cockburn, April Wine, Pat Travers, FM, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Bryan Adams.... not the sort of stuff I listen to any more but the quality was always great. Great country, lovely people, including loads of beautiful women.Just a bit too much wilderness and wildlife for my tastes, AND MUCH, MUCH TOO COLD but that can't be helped I suppose. An eminently sensible society ( except for Quebec) , and all the more remarkable considering their close proximity to the U.S.A. I'm not surprised that there are so many bands that have come out of Canada because, simlilar to Australia, it is very much a live music culture with loads of bars and clubs for bands to play, so the law of averages dictates that some will go on to bigger things. [/quote] Great track! I can vividly remember hearing that song for the first time when Tommy Vance played it on the Friday Rock Show. That must have been around 1980. That's when rock music was rock music! None of this long shorts and goatee beards nonsense that you get nowadays. It was long, shaggy permed hair , satin bomber jackets and great songs like that. A mate of mine is a fan of both MW and KM solo. Underrated artist. I have one or two MW albums in the collection and best of comps of both MW and KM.
