What's wrong with you people??

Why are the classified pages bursting with more lovely gear than usual?

I have a small collection of lovely basses and amps that are very dear to my heart, yet everywhere I turn there's lovely CS and vintage Jazzes, peculiar CS Precisions, Deluxe P's, Vanderkley cabs, Mesa stuff... what's going on?

The temptation to sell most of my stuff and replace it just for the sake of it is overwhelming. Get behind me, Satan!

[size=4][sup]I'm not into Fenders in a big way so haven't seen anything yet that I'd buy...I did feel weak at the Wal 5 with shedua facings recently though and mulled over getting another Mesa Boogie Bass400+. However, I have GAS fair and square for the Industrial Radio MIDI bass that Big Red mentioned recently. First time I've had GAS since I bought the Spector NS5 6 years ago. However that bass would effectively make the MIDI pre on my Shuker redundant.[/sup]

[sup]BTW, I believe the recession will officially end this year too, I'm picking up all sorts of clues in the UK at the moment. Local authority workloads are creeping up in my sector of the market along more business development and graduate jobs advertised in the private sector too.[/sup][/size]

It is entirely possible that my personal stash of basses will have grown by a Roscoe SKB, another Ritter Cora and a Celinder J Update this month, distinctly likely to be an Alleva Coppolo LG4 in there as well and I'm still drooling over a couple of things in the classifieds!

Better put a bit more effort into selling something. . . :)

Being a lefty saves me from some GAS, but not enough to stop my credit card itching.
[/quote]

For a moment there I thought you meant you have some ideological objection buying stuff

From personal experience I can say that high end stuff is most certainly selling - often at full asking prices too!

My vague theory was that people didn't get what they wanted for Xmas so were buying themselves little presents :)

My GAS seems to be cyclical - it was mostly for nice natural wood tops and now I'm drifting towards simpler plain colour pastels and the odd sunburst :)
