It's funny. I've done some of those Xfactor type gigs and every artist is so different.. Some want come up to the musicians, want to know about them. Say stuff like that's for playing or just wanna chat etc. Others wouldn't know if you were the drummer or the tea boy and don't care..

It's never bothered me either way. It can be fun at times.

What are you recording?

ha ha - thanks for the responses. Bottomendian wins the prize for guessing correctly.

I've had a listen to some of his stuff on YouTube (just solo voice and piano) and he's not bad at all.

No secrecy, really.. I'm just not really sure what we're recording and what it's for yet. I'll let you know more when I know myself..!

Dont forget the triumphant key change on the last chorus (of every song ...) :)

My manager is good friends with Louis Walsh, and apparently one of McElderry's plans for when he finished the pop-star to opera-star thing was to go on a tour of Ireland, which I would be involved with. Try not to make the basslines too complex, WoT :)

Take the J. In fact, take any Fender unless it's a high end job. If there is big money and a producer who is quite particular about the sound he gets, take a Smith, a Fodera and Alembic and tell him to take his pick! :)

Even then they'd probably pick the Fender

Indeed. Perhaps why it's a struggle to find a 'great' sounding mainstream record from the past decade, sound quality is just not a concern there anymore!

Don't agree with this - Anything Pino has been on has sounded great. Not everybody wants the hifi tones of boutique basses, they don't suit all types of music.
