  1. This bad boy dropped on the doormat today. Will give it a whirl at tomorrows rehearsal.
  2. I have the 12" combo with horn and its cray loud and punchy. I don't even bother taking out my full fat SVT and 410. You will be using this for years, its a great rig, good choice.
  3. I've just ordered the Laney Digbeth DB Pre to replace my DHA VT-2. It's £125 at GAK, has a mosfet and Tube channel, XLR out so Im hoping its as good as it looks. https://www.laney.co.uk/amps/bass/digbeth/db-pre
  4. I live in Teignmouth, Devon Nobody famous apart from Muse
  5. I have a full fat SVT and a 410 HLF, sounds amazing but heavy as hell. I also have RCF 15" active floor wedges, good as well. But I've really been impressed by my Markbass combo. It's incredibly punchy and loud and light. I use a tube preamp pedal to add a little dirt but so far it's been great. http://www.markbass.it/product-detail/cmd-121h/
  6. not as good as Hayley Benton...
  7. didn't Gerry Lee from Thrush basically want to be Chris Square?
  8. was it all in one piece before "he who may not be named" had a crack at it?
  9. bit of a mush tbh, sorry, not very clear IMO, some more mids perhaps and a little less bottom end? I was listening on pc speakers and a sub so not studio monitor quality. I've had another listen this morning and turned my speakers down. It's definitely not as mushy as I heard it last night (wine?) "Come back down" bass sounds loads better on cans but is a little quiet in the mix? On headphones "I should know" sounds much better, more prominent and there's obviously quite a bit more going on playing wise
  10. weirdly the guy who does Dennis' sound lives down the road from me here in Devon. I painted his house
  11. are those peaveys in the background? Still in use today probably...
  12. making my speakers distort quite a bit ( and I have a sub), might want to cut some bottom end and bump the mids a little, otherwise nice playing..
  13. Give Mark a shout at Cool and Classic Guitars. His website states he's looking for guitars as well as basses. He's a scrupulously straight guy. https://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/guitars-for-sale/

  15. pants amps, don't waste your money. Get an old Peavey TNT or Trace Elliot would be even better if you can find one. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3677082332416730/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A2c71e752-e340-4fc7-8303-a6958bf2a987 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/571877463879090/?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A2c71e752-e340-4fc7-8303-a6958bf2a987
  16. this looks a real bargain https://bassbros.co.uk/product/cort-gb34/
  17. i've made it neck and neck just to really confuse the issue...
  18. As a reaper user I would still recommend Logic if you're comfortable with Garageband.
  19. nice, but we all know who you really bought it for....
  20. your SSL Audio Interface should give you an excellent sound straight out of the box. Saying that I have invested in the Waves SSL EV2 VST and its bloody excellent. Lots of great advice on this very forum.
  21. maybe something here? https://www.tcelectronic.com/tonePrints/tonePrint-product.html?modelCode=P0DDQ
  22. got a TC sub n up, pretty decent and you can download all sorts of presets so there's bound to be something to suit.
