1. Mmm that's heavy. 11 Stone.....
 2.
Not sure how much it would cost to ship / courier. I've never done it before.
If you use Interparcel it should be £9.99 + insurance of £5 + VAT, so £18 in all. Use the Economy delivery as they use UPS and it will usually be delivered next day.
 3. My tone is pretty much set in stone, but normally have to tweak the VLF or VPE on my MarkBass Amp to cater for the room acoustics.
 4. There are about 5 F/S on eBay at the moment, all with a couple of days to go.
 5. I'll take it if it's still available. PM'd
 6.
Regardless of what you think of his slap stuff (by his own admission its just pyrotechnics), watch his tutorial DVD 'Groove Workshop', guarantee you're opinion of him will change. Si
+1 to that. A fantastic DVD. Funnily enough Nigel Clutterbuck is in the same position. He did a fantastic session at the last Bass Day and admited that he does all the slap because that is what people expect of him..... He is a really great player and teamed up with a superb drummer a lot of people were saying he was better than Marcus Miller. I completely changed my views on him and was man enough to tell him... Didn't get me any free strings though.
 7. If you are looking for 2 completely different sounds, why not try an EQ pedal with more than 1 channel. Something loke a Sansamp with 3 Channels and you can shape 3 different sounds. Might even be worth trying with your current set-up.
 8.
I have filters on my Alembic, with all due respect to Greeneking, I find them limiting.
Certainly not my experience with the ACG pre Amp. If anything there is "too" much sound shaping available and it takes some time to get your head round it. I got my first ACG nearly 2 years ago and only when i adopted GreenKings suggestion for setting it up did all become clear. Having a filter stack per pickup is fantastic. even 2 identical pick-ups can be set up with totally different characteristics and then just blend between the 2. I would find a global filter arrangement a bit limiting, as IMHO a global conventional system is, but the ACG 01 is a fantastic bit of kit.
 9. any chance you could measure the pickup and let me know the dimentions?
 10. Drop Geoff Chalmers a PM. He has worked on the ships. Also try Beneath it all, (Mike) http://basschat.co.uk/user/193-beneath-it-all/ . If he isn't on here, he will be away on a cruise at the moment. he does them all year round.
 11.
Make a cable to run the two cabs in series to make 16-ohms, and Robert is your father's brother.
And OBBM is the man to do it.
 12. Zip. i'm finally in Sonic Nirvana. Weird feelig though.
 13.
http://www.notreble....en-electronics/ Looking forward to the first ever made in India Eden...
As opposed to China?
 14.
It's the night before NYE. Peace on Earth and goodwill to all men. Steve
So it's New Year's Eve Eve. All the best guys. If your gigging , have a good one.
 15.
If that was just over the phone I'd be wary of putting any business his way, especially since you're local.
To be fair, Dave is a Valve Amp man and has been for a long time, (and I warned Steve about this before passing his details on). I used to work with him and he is absolute mustard on Valve Gear. One of the best. He has fixed Solid State stuff, but accepts that with modern assembly methods, it is down to swapping circuit boards. There is very little that can be done on a modern assembly line board as the components are so small. By the time he has established where the fault is and tried to order a replacement pcb, it would be cheaper to get a replacement amp. It is probably fairer to be upfront, (in his usual non customer focussed way), at the start than spend more than the item is worth.
 16. Check his other listing. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1e69a96a59 I suspect he has had a shed load of messages on the subject.
 17. If the deal falls through, i'll have them.
 18. Try Geoff Chalmers who is based in leeds at the moment. You won't be disappointed. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/91920-leeds-professional-bass-guitar-double-bass-lessons-inividual-tuition-with-geoff-chalmers-crb-checked/
 19.
I think this is the one I ended up with - real bright flame on it, pearlescent / white pickguard? I'd echo all of the above, it felt a very light bass. A true regret moving it on.
Yep I think that's the chappie.
 20.
If you can find one of the MTD Heir generation of instruments they are extremely llight, have a lush neck (IMNSHO) and are easily upgradeable electronically. Lush beyond.
+1 I had a Kingston Heir 5 and had a Bartolini 3 Band Pre-Amp put in it. Very light Bass and awesome sound. Agree with comments on the neck, really nice. Not as nice as a Marleaux, but close.
 21. That is absolutely stunning Peter. Alan has worked his magic again.
 22.
Two things I'd add - if you're playing in a rock band, do you need a tweeter for your tone? Possibly not... And if you're playing in a rock band you need a cab that can make full use of your amp's 600W output. The S12 can, whilst some of the other cabs being discussed can't - despite their higher prices they use inferior woofers which can't move as much air. Doesn't matter if you're in a quieter band but it sounds like you're not!
And suddenly you are not in a Rock Band and do need the tweeter. Let's junk the cab and buy something else.
 23.
Gotta a feel this might be out of my price range!!! looks very classy all the same.. MM
Same sort of price range as a BF Super12 + Neo Surcharge + Cover or Berg + Cover. Roqsolid covers come as standard with the EAD range.
 24.
+1
+2 for the EAD Foundation212. Awesome Cab.
 25. There should be a link on the email sent when it has been shipped. There should be a link about 2/3 of the way down the page to check progress. Likey so: http://www.thomann.de/gb/mythomann_tracking_xxxxxxxxxx.html I got an order placed last Friday delivered yesterday, yet a 1st Class letter posted last Tuesday still hasn't arrived in Morecambe.
