If you are adding a horn ideally you need a x-over to split the frequencies to the 15 and tweeter. You can then add an L-Pad to control the volume of horn. Not sure about off the shelf x-over's but John at audio components will design you one for free if you buy the components from him. The one for my 2x12 + Compression Tweeter was about £33. http://www.audio-components.co.uk/ Why not just put a piezo tweeter in with an On/Off switch if you want? Put a 47Ω 3W resistor in series and job done for less than £10. Piezo tweeters are capacitative therefore automatically reject low frequency power and are inherently high impedance. Therefore, these can be wired directly across a woofer without the need for a crossover. Regarding Amps, it really is personal choice. I also have an L2500 and favour MarkBass. I've been round the houses with TC, EA, GallienKruger, etc. and came back to MB. I do however fancy trying the new Ampeg PF500's and they are at a great price at the moment

Got them on both my ACG's, (that's what Alan strings his basses with now), and really rate them. Really nice to play and they do as they say StayInTune.
My question is where can I get replacement speakers? are modern celestions OK? The originals are marked TEC 10, 50 watts, 8ohms. Any help greatly appreciated.
Get them re-coned at Wembley Loudspeakers. At least you will know they match the other 2. Markbass...do I regret selling thee and want to buy another?!
BassBunny replied to Musicman20's topic in Amps and Cabs
Familier story. Used MarkBass for a good few years then started trying out other Amps. I kept my LMII as back-up and took it out one night and am firmly back in MarkBass territory now. The list of makes i went through was pretty comprehensive but an SA450 and LMII are "IT" now, (well maybe an F500), -
I would use a dial-up service to call Audere. It will cost abouy 0.5p per minute and at least you should get an answer. I found them very helpful when I had to call them. Here's a link with the Money Saving Expert Call Checker. http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/

Extremely lightweight, only 46lbs. Neodymium Speakers. In mint condition and includes genuine TecAmp cover. All the specs, (and price new), can be found here: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/tecamp-puma-combo-210/30105 It really is silly loud, even without an additional cab. Sad to be parting with it, but got it for a specific project that didn't happen.
Yikes. Ok, bottom line... is this not going to be big enough for small gigs without an extension cab, even if I DI it into the PA (as well as using the inbuilt speaker)?
Simple answer is try it. I had a go on one of these up at a recent Moffat Bass Bash and was astonished at how loud it can go. If you are only using it for on-stage monitoring, I would think you are going to be OK. If you do go for an additional cab, I would suggest you get the matching cab. As to if you will like a 10" speaker over a 12 or 15, that is personal choice and you will only find out in a gigging situation.
Hi Guys. Steve Miller here from Chicago. I often pop over to Paul Rose's Prosebass website to look at what's being made, but lately haven't been able to connect with his site. Any knowledge if Paul's still in business? His short-scale headless basses are one-of-a-kind. I was hoping to pick one up sometime. Thanks for any input you can share.
Hi Steve. I believe he has: Here is a posting from another forum. Yes folks, the time has come to put Prosebass to bed. 'oh dear' some shouted, 'about time' sayeth others.... I have gone back to full time work and am now in the employ of a major UK PLC. This will give me the time and funds to have a rethink and work on some ideas that I have for mass production basses rather than the custom builds. I would like to express a big thanks to all who have put their faith in me and allowed me to build them a bass , those who have helped and given advice. Thanks again...Paul

Hi Geoff Did you get my reply to your PM?
Not 100% sure but I think Dave Perry (who normally posts prolifically over on finnbass, but is a also a member here) might have built some fearful cab, or something like
Pretty sure Dave has only built BFM designs, (aoart from his current 2x12 monster).

Dave Marks has been promoting Frudua Basses. Check out his website.

No they don't completely nail the Stingray tone. That said they are probably the most adaptable bass available. It's my permanent "go-to" bass if any of the others aren't quite doing it.

I'll be going again this year. Must say I didn't enjoy last year as much as previous years. Having 3 solo players didn't do it for me. As an aside I'm off to see Stevie and his band tomorrow night. Always an absolutely knockout gig with some stellar playing.
