1. I got this for a project that never materialised. Vol/Blend/ Bass/Treble/Mid/MidShift. It's a 4 knob one with 2 stacked controls for Bass/Treble and Mid/Mid shift. Unused, although I did "borrow" the Jack to trace a fault on a Bass so that component has been used for about 5mins and has a bit of solder on it. It's This One £25 including delivery.
 2. Set of almost new Pedalboard Patch leads that I won't be using again. 2 x 8", (20Cm) Award Session Cleartone Leads. Neutrik Angled Jacks and VanDamme Cable. The Poodles Plums 3 x 8" (20Cm), Similar quality as above. Believe they are Amphenol Angled Jacks, (they make for the Military) with VD Cable 2 x 6" , (15Cm) Standard Moulded Angled Jacks and not in the same league as the other 5, (but OK for spares) The quality ones cost about £7.00 a pop, so £17.50 the lot. Drop me a PM if you are interested.
 3.
Now that is one helluva nice combination you have there. Can I ask you - what's it like swapping between parallel and sloping frets ? T
When I tried one, Mark's advice was "Just don't think about it and don't look at the fretboard". He was right. Takes about 5 seconds and you don't realise they are "wonky" frets.

 5.
There's also a pic on my avatar courtesy of Steviedee, the previous owner of this cab, so thanks to him for passing it on.
Perfect partner for an Ashdown Superfly.

 7.
I bought a second hand bass which came with some nice sounding bass strings, I'm sure I've tried these before and I'm thinking they're Elites. They have red silk at the ball ends and blue silk at the tuning post end. I've been using Warwick strings exclusively for about three years now but I might try these other strings when I know what they are. Thanks Andy P.S. I asked the seller what strings they were and he didn't know either....
Hi Andy, Pretty sure they are Rotosound Swing Bass Nickels, I have a set on 2 of my Basses. Elites don't have any wrappings at all IIRC.

 13.
Iam based in N.Ireland. Shipping to UK costs £40. This is with D P D couriers. If anyone knows a cheaper one,or can give me some info on where to get cardboard boxes this big to put cab into I would be very grateful. Thanks
i tried all the obvious ones and none will do it. Incidently you don't necessarily have to have a box to fit the cab in. If you have a local Bike shop, get a couple of the cartons bikes come shipped in and "wrap" the cab in the cardboard. I have done this a few times and it works well.
 14. I know it's a long shot but is anyone going to Moffat from the Lowestoft area with room for a speaker cab? Trying to do a deal on one and the guy won't wrap it up.....

 16.
Forgot to add, If you'd like to hear it on some tracks, check out my myspace at www.myspace.com/harrydeacon its on the tracks by the Kingston Jazz Trio: All Blues - Zippy funky sound, but with sweet lows So nice - Warm, round verging on acoustic sounds Footprints - Somewhere in between ^ these are just a few of the variations on the tones, they don't even show off the versatilty of the mid range that this bass is capable of!
Nice playing. We do Footprints and All Blues. Nice versions and good luck with the sale.
 17. I have used both Ged Green and Steve Robinson, http://www.manchesterguitartech.co.uk/ Steve is in Sale and Ged in Cheadle. Both south side of Manchester. Nowt to choose between them.
Hi Folks, In my new year clearout I have unearthed 4 x speaker poles. These are not stands, but spaces between bins and tops. Standard top hat size. Free to whoever wants to collect them. A small donation to basschat would be a good thing. Cheers Gray
Hi Gray, Whereabouts in West Yorks are you? Cheers, Stuart
 20. +1 for the suggestion regarding a good tutor. Doddy mentioned "String Muting" and you could probably use a bit of help on basic technique: a) Correct positioning of the Bass, (Strap Length) Correct fingering c) Muting etc. etc. If you don't get the basics of technique right now, it's a hell of job to get out of bad habits in the future, trust me I am a living example of that. As a converted guitarist i took loads of bad habits into bass playing and it has taken a while to shift them, but the difference is amazing. A good Woodshead routine of Scales, Arpeggios etc. will be invaluable in the future. It's OK learning how to play popular numbers but it doesn't help if you find yourself in an Indie Band having to build your own bass lines. I can recommend Funk Fusion Bass by John Liebman as an addition to those already mentioned. Good luck with your progress.

 22.
where is it mate, and what kind of band are they expecting?
These are all the details I know. The band that were doing it are an alll-round function band. Bit of Soul/pop/MOR/Rock/Funk etc. : "I need a band to cover for my band for a New Years Eve gig at Porthmadog's Yacht club. My singer is poorly and has lost her voice, so we are unable to play. Fee is good, food and drinks are supplied on the night, and there is a travel lodge 2 mins away form the venue with rooms still available. If your interested please PM me, and i will answer all enquiries with as many details as i can give" I think at this stage any decent "party" band that will have the punters dancing will fit the bill. Cheers, Stuart
 23. I rate Victor Wooten's Groove Workshop. Great DVD and quite thought provoking.
