1. A mate of mine has had to pull his band out of a NYE gig as the vocalist has lost her voice. It's a decent payer with Food/Drink included. Drop me a PM if you know of anyone who could do it and i will put you in touch.
2.
i would love a read if its not too late to be added to list please?
As soon as I have the book and read it, will forward it on to you.
3. After thinking abot this, I'm going to throw a curve in here. I have 2 Zoot 1x12's, ( the forerunner of Purple Chilli), and I know Mike Walsh, who builds Zoot/PC, very well. The Purple Chilli design is different from the Zoot design, but I also have an RH450 and can't get the sound I want. I have had the Zoot's for nearly 3 years, they were part of the development process and I specified normal, rather than Neo drivers and when used with my Little Mark II sounded awesome. I am seriously considering going back to using the MarkBass and it may just be that the TC/Purple Chilli combination just isn't right for you, (or me for that matter).
4.
If you're after a 12 + 6 cab, why not have a look at Greenboy's fEarful 12+6? Not too hard to build and you could finish it any way you like. A
+1 for the Greenboy suggestion. Recipe for disaster doing what you first suggested.
5.
Am I the only one who prefers the version in the OP.......??
Definately not.
6. Sounds like a rfun project for the winter. I can recommend a visit to Axes R Us on-line shop. Great for bits and pieces. I did a P Bass build and used a Wilkinson Vintage bridge, (from axes). Great quality and the brass saddles really do make a difference. Have also used Gotoh which are great but 50-100% more. Heartily recommend Wizard for pick-ups. Just speak to them, tell them what you want and if they don't do it already, they can wind something specific to you.
7. Simple answer is either will work. I personally would go for Speakon to Cab 1 and Speakon from Cab1 to Cab 2 as long as you are using decent cables. Spekons are a much better mechanical connection and handle more current than jacks. I am sure I read somewhere that Jack's are only good for about 150W. Modern development may make that statement obsolete, but I still consider that when deciding how to connect everything up. Incidently how does the LM2 sound with TC Cabs?
8. Hi Phil, I've just checked your MySpace site and if the book is along the lines of the vids you have up there, it should be pretty special. For what it's worth you may want to look at what Mike Dimmin did with his "Art of Solo Bass", he includes Tab. If you intend to publish the bbok it would realy limit sales if you didn't. I bitterly regret not learning to read when I was younger. I started a while back but it is slow going, (mainly an age thing). I do find that having Tab with normal transcriptions has helped me with my reading. Unfortunately due to the popularity of TAB it is now almost a pre-requisite.
9.
Used 2 Band (Treble, Bass, Vol, Pan) MEC preamp straight out of a Corvette $$ for sale. All fully functional and professionally removed by the Bass Gallery. Reason for selling is because I upgraded to a Nordy preamp. Does not include knobs. £50 Dave
Dave are the $$ pick-ups passive? Any chance of a pic. Need to see what it looks like to judge if it will fit in a project.
10.
MB1. The Return of Eddie The Eagle?
Absolutely. No matter how hard i tried I couldn't even get out of the door. Eddie managed to ski over to Chillfactor-e and hit the slopes. Now left the building.
11. There was a North West one in Lytham about 3 years ago.
12. Here is a scan of the Instruction Book. It good condition apart from a cover missing at the rear, but that does not have any effect other than cosmetic. Has a built in Computer etc. It's in Manchester and is too big to post, unless you want to organise a courier.
13.
Ah ok, what pre-amp is it then? I'm half interested in this, I'm on the look out for a 5er for the new year, this isn't exactly what I'm looking for but it sounds pretty nice and looks cool.
If it's the original EMG pick-ups, then there isn't a pre-amp. The EMG's are Active. The Tone Pump is just and additional Bass/Treble Boost circuit.

15.
Can you turn up without a bass as I'm shy at my Yamaha 414? (Obviously I'd buy a ticket!)
I'll jump in before Alan or Dave answer. "Of course you can.", but why be shy. Just bring whatever Bass is in your arsenal when you walk out of the door. It's a really great event. No ego's, no bulshit, just a bunch of bass players, (and in some cases significant other halves), getting together for a social week-end and playing whatever is there. The "house band" are great guys and I guarentee you will have a great time. JFDI
16. Could you put me on the list please.
17. Hi Daz, If it's a "read and pass on" deal, i wouldn't mind a look after Gary
18. Steve, Register on North West Bands NWB, (if you haven't already), and advertise yourself there. Plent bands looking for Bass Players on there.
19. Cheers for the comments. I wasn't after a freebie, just a nudge in the right direction and sorted now thanks.
20.
Just got two of these with the 12" driver and they are a cracking unit; great as monitors!
Spot on John. We were toying with the idea of buying another and using for our FOH PA.
21. Having just joined a bunch of Jazz Musicians, I could really do with a copy of "The Real Book" but in PDF format. I know I should really go for the printed version and carry it around, but would rather see if i can manage with printing off just the transcriptions I need.
