1.
Only if I get no joy selling locally. I don't have any suitable packing materials or much free time to go and find some! By the way I should be going to Coventry for the day on Tuesday (via train) if anyone around that way is interested.
Understand. if you do decide to wrap up, let me know. BTW, Bike shops are a great source of boxes.
 2.
To the top!
Sure you don't fancy "wrapping it up" for a courier?
 3.
Hi Stuart Yes, as long as you settle for the "Yorkshire Bass Bash 2011" logo and send me £10: I think your version is a bit long-winded! Keith
Cheers Keith. If you are stuck for the 20, give me a shout and send PayPal address and i'll have one.
 4. First Bass Owned: Aria Pro-Bass, ( I won it and it started it all aff for me) 'Go To' Bass: G&L L2500 'Your' Bass: ACG Recurve 5
 5.
T-Shirt alert, if you attended could you please read post #116. I need your input please: if we don't get 20 names the T-Shirts won't happen! I currently have 13 names with sizes.......
Keith, if you don't get the 20 names would you consider a, " I couldn't make it and am really hacked of about it, especially as i have been having some lessons from Geoff Chalmers" purchase to make up the numbers?
 6.
MB1. ........WRONG! Its a 3 Band Eq.....Unless Overtanglewaterwood are blatantly lying on there Product brochure! ........That is where i have acquired my information (reproduced word for word!) Stop Press! Brochure Evidence Possibly inadmissable? Jury still out! Verdict....2? or 3? ....Try One Yourself!
Martin, quote from Martin Lee, who I think works for Overwater.
Hi Ead, I do believe there has been some miss information regarding the contemporary jazz bass circuit, its actually a two band. Volume(pull bright), pan, treble, bass. hope this helps
I tried one in Moffat in February and they are definately a 2-Band EQ
 7.
Here's the other vid I took of Scott & Geoff. Apologies for the sound quality ...my camera, not the excellent Markbass/Bag End backline! If anyone doubted that a pair of bass guitars on their own could be enjoyable to listen to, then watch this...
What a knockout version of Blue Bossa
 8.
Cheers guys for organising this event. Had a great laugh, and got a nice Jazz book..although tis not the usual Jazz mag I am found with..
Looks a great do and gutted I couldn't make it. When you have digested the Jazz book Dave, I wouldn't mind a look.
 9.
I'm gonna carry on playing in my den but fancy a 6er and learning the dark art that is Jazz.
Hi Al, I know what you mean about the Pub thing. Joining a Jazz/Funk/Fusion Band was the best thing I ever did. Massive leap of faith and really taken out of comfort zone, but really enjoyable. Only problem is the relative lack of venues to play in. Chin up mate, you never know what is round the corner.
 10.
Well, some people say its all in the fingers. I think having the right gear has a lot to do with it though, personally. Learning to tweak your EQ to get the sound you want comes down to experimentation I'm afraid, it tends to vary from bass to bass, amp to amp and room to room. Do you have any examples of bands where the tone does it for you? That would give us a good starting point to advise you from.
It is in the fingers. Mate of mine was round last week. Used My Bass(es), My Amp, My Settings and got the tone I have been after for years. His Bass, His Amp, same sound. I mean when Victor Wooten moved to Hartke, did his sound change? No
 11.
actually I don't much go for the gold hardware either
Me neither. If it were Black, i would be checking the piggy-bank. Good Luck with the sale, that is a seriously nice looking Bass.
 12.
Are you sure? Looking at the pics of the contemporary Js, I see 4 knobs.
(1) Volume(pull bright), (2) pan, (3) treble, (4) bass. I think Martin works for Overwater so i guess he should know. I tried this actual bass at the moffat Bass Bash and it was definately a 2 band Eq.
 13.
And is something inherently wrong with that? The price is way too high (for a few quid more you can just buy a new one), though.
Absolutely not. If someone is prepared to pay that sort of price for a damaged instrument when a new one is little more, more fool them. I just found it funny that when asked if it indeed was the London Show Bass, it vanished from the For Sale section to appear on e-Bay for nearly £50 more. No doubt some mug will buy it. Just wondering what would happen if you offered the price it went for at the show.
 14.
It is the one from the show. The seller (different username to eBay) had it on here first until I queried it with him then he pulled it a he didn't want members here to think he was after a quick buck !
Which he is.
 15.
I'm very interested, but I have to know - is it worth converting my Jazz's jack into a side jack for this nice bit of hardware, or is it a cardinal sin to butcher my main bass for an active EQ? Ta, Stef.
It's easy enough to remove the Passive Tone Control and replace with thejack thus making it an ordinary J Retro. I went the other way and converted a normal to a De-Luxe. it's pretty simple.
 16.
It was nice to see the Tanglewaters (as someone dubbed them earlier), they seem nice instruments. I was tempted to pick one up but it just didn't quite feel right somehow.
It was Chris May himself that christened them "Tanglewaters". That's what he called them when he brought them up to Moffat for the Feb Bass Bash.
 17.
Oh you mean this one ? I was very impressed with it. Image featuring niceguyhomer and MythSte .
Image featuring niceguyhomer and MythSte just before the OW guy came and switched the amp off?.
 18.
Why the **** would people play deliberately on a no radius board?
Try it, you won't go back. Someone is going to be very happy if they buy this. As a member of the ACG Owners Club they are astonishing Basses.
 19.
Dunno who ACG are, but here's one almighty plug for the best active cct I've ever heard.
You must be spending too much time on the ships Mike. Check out the affiliates market or my avatar or http://www.acguitars.co.uk There is a massive amount of "love" for them on here. more here. 20. Tux Guitar is awesome and FREE. You can import Guitar Pro into it and output to various audio formats AND MiDi.
 21. +1 for G&L. It's my "Get out of jail free" Bass. Normally carried as a back-up, but if the room acoustics are bad, I can always rely on it to get a great sound the really cuts through. You don't need the US ones either. Having played and owned both, there is so little difference it isn't worth it IMHO. I've had 3 of them. Regretted selling the first and the 2nd went when I got my ultimate combination of Blueburst with Maple FB. The neck is very P-Bass like as well.
 22. Nice to meet you last night Mike. The Cab sounds superb. Thanks for a great deal.
 23.
I would split, how much would you offer for the cab?
Will drop you a PM Mike.
