1.
Haha, I didn't hear him call them that. But that's good, I'll remember that. Felt a bit mean pointing a camera at him when he was at a key point of a two year process but he was a true gent and didn't bat an eyelid.
I got the impression he is happy to do whatever to get across the message that these are "Overwaters" made by Tanglewood and not just a licensing excercise.
 2.
We're very excited about showing these to people. Chris was great to talk to and he deserves success with this range.
Great Vid Michael. Wish we had done the same when Chris brought them up to Moffat. He is really excited about them and i love the way he calls them "Tanglewaters"
 3.
Since using a Markbass head I just set everything at 12 o'clock and use the two filters. I boost mids on my bass.
+1 No need to do any more, just let the natural sound of the Bass shine through.
 4.
I'd be bringing it back myself probably, so preparing to do the needful at the customs. (btw funky sig you have there Ou7shined, not seen pictures of basses like that!) Cheers, -Kiat
If you are bringing it back yourself, take a cheap-sh*t Bass out with you and then the one you bring back is "the one I took out" As you will no doubt have to make special arrangement for it to go in hold/on board, being able to prove you went out with a bass could help the cause.
 5.
I put an Artec 3-band pre-amp into my SB465, mostly because the blend pot on the old setup wasn't working properly. It's a big improvement on the standard electronics, probably the best budget fix you can do without upgrading the pickups and probably worth doing even if you did a pickup change.
+1 I have an SB405 and the SGC pre-amp was pants. The Artec has transformed it. Funny thing is that whenever I use it I always get comments on how it sounds.
 6.
Need a replacement speaker for my cab. Or a purchase of a cheap one.
Might be able to help. What wattage you looking for?
 7. That was quick Alan.
 8. Mark bought a TC RH450 from me and it was a very sweet transaction. A pleasure to deal with and no messing round. Enjoy Mark. Stuart
 9.
I've arranged to pick this up next week, just need to sort the logistics when the OP gets home tomorrow.
Nice catch DB. I Pm'd the OP about 2 hours after he originally posted saying I would have it if he would package up for a courier or give me a couple of days to organise someone to collect. If it doesn't work out DB, give me a shout.
 10.
Probably best not to turn it into an auction, as far as I'm concerned whoever got there first should get it.
+1 to that. I PM'd when the poster was still around, (no reply), but accept that a "collect" sale may be preferable.
 11.
I suspect I'm near the back of the queue
I suspect my PM of 22nd at 4:05 has gone missing as I've heard nowt since.
 12.
I've just heard that the ship from the east with the Aspirations has arrived. They are to be set up up Chris before being sent out to dealers. Eek - I really like the look of the Contemporary J - in blue with the block inlays - or am I being seduced by mere looks rather than sounds?
No it sounds fantastic. In fact just like an Overwater.
 13. Doing it as we speak. Amps/Cabs first.
 14.
Darren and Chris at the Bass Merchant in Essex will be taking stock of this range. Chris May himself will be attending the shop and setting each one up personally! Great service. Got my beady on the trans blue contemp Jazz!!
Played that one at the Moffat Bass Bash a few weeks back. Stonkin Bass.
 15.
Can I ask why you didn't just replace the faulty speaker.
Or get it repaired? The Aguilar speakers are likely to have different performance characteristics, designed for Aguilar Cabs.
 16. If you decide to go for the RH450, I have a mint, little used one including Floorboard, Bag. Original Packaging, Manuals etc. It's about 12 months old and i'm looking to sell it.
 17.
I need to replace all the drivers in my 90s SWR Goliath III 4 x 10. (grey hammered grille, not chrome or diamond shape). I think the originals are PAS or possibly Eminence but exact info is scarce. Thomann do OEM replacement speakers (they're listed as SWR speakers so still don't know what they really are) for £131 each. As I need 4 this is too expensive. I want to get the original speakers, or at least equivalent quality. It belongs to my step father who wants it back as he's playing again (I've been abusing it the past few years), so putting cheapies in there won't do. But surely I can get good enough drivers for less than that?? The Celestion green and orange labels don't cut it, checked the specs and they don't seem to have great excursion. Also, concerned with just getting some really good ones and hoping for the best as they may not be suited to the cab. Ideally I want to know what the original fitment is so I can try to find them elsewhere for cheaper if possible. Any advice from your speaker boffins would be much appreciated! Thanks guys.
Why not just send them to Wembley Loudspeakers and get them overhauled? They will be as good as, (if not better than new) http://www.wembleyloudspeaker.com/
 18.
That's a LOT of bang for your buck!
Christ, at that price I am almost tempted to have it back.
 19. Chris May was at the Moffat Bass Bash yesterday with an example of each model. They are outstandingly good and undeniably Overwaters, ( or Tanglewaters as he calls them). The fret work on the one I really examined is outstanding. I had a very long chat with him and he has got it right IMHO.
 20.
Who'd have thought! Is the Marleaux/Carvin Still going strong?! and thats great news JMT!
Yep still got "Marvin". There has been a few in/out since, but I don't think it's going anywhere.
 21.
I've recently acquired this amps big brother, the 212 and I can attest the tone is to die for
I've recently acquired this amps big sister, the 210 and have to agree about the tone
 22.
Bump and Price Drop
Sale fell through Bump
 23. See you took my advice Snazz. I still stand by what I said on NWB. I have played really bad US, Jap and Mex Fenders. Go try.
 24.
I'm 50 now Could i be having a late midlife crisis?
Ermmmm, I started at 61. Saw an ad for a Jazz outfit looking for a Bass Player and thought, "why not", never done it so lets give it a try. Turns out they are really good players and when I mentioned I didn't think I was up to it, they wouldn't let me go. Am now in 2 Jazz Bands as well as the function band. I have found it has taken me so far out of my comfort zone I am loving it. Would now prefer a Jazz Gig to a Function now.
 25. These are the chappies you need for a re-cone. Great service and they usually tell you why it blew in the first place. Wembley Loudspeakers
