Very odd - just followed your link and again was held waiting for a .ru address. Was just window shopping, may be looking for a second 112 in the new year but may come back to you then if you still have it!
How weird. i'll mention it to his Webmeister. I doubt it will be going anywhere soon. Mike has changed the design slightly and this is one of the MK1's. It is absurdly light and have all the hardware, some Burgundy Tolex to cover it in and even an Aluminium Grill. I have a pair of Zoot 112's that i got from Mike when he launched them and they are great. Just seem to be using my EAD all the time these days.

Was just about to let Mike know and quickly checked it. No problem with it. http://www.purple-chili.com/ You're not after a a 2x12 are you? Got one in Kit Form, (everythiung except drivers).

Marcus Miller was asked at this years BassDay about why he has played the same bass for years. His answer: " I have loads of basses at home, (and he went on to list some very desirable ones), but his Bass Heroes, James Jamerson, Jaco etc, only ever played 1 Bass. He decided to play his Jazz and really get to know it. Now arriving at "that" bass may be the hard part.

Manchester Bass Player needed (to replace me!)
BassBunny replied to unimpressed alf's topic in Bassists Wanted
The band is lead primarilly by my very good friend Mike who is currently exploring an unconventional approach to pop song writing.
That wouldn't be "Synthy Mike" from North West Bands would it? Oh and Pete, (thunderthumbs), is a really nice player and a nice guy, so grab him. -
Speaker options for Ashdown Abm 575w combo
BassBunny replied to clashcityrocker's topic in Amps and Cabs
Or get the speaker fixed at Wembley Loudspeakers. -
Why not just get the speaker fixed? At least then you KNOW it is the right driver for the cab. Wembley Loudspeakers are great at fixing drivers.

Spot On. This is an excerpt from his Groove Workshop DVD. If you see the first "lesson" he gets his students to do on the DVD, this will make even more sense.
Remember that that rig costed close to £2K new! That's not exactly what you could call a cheap rig! But i understand your point and agree with you, sometimes we spend a lot of money in gear and the improvement in sound is not always that noticeable!
The current TE1215 Combo, (OK a bit more powerful), has a retail price of £1582. Just shows how quick electronic items can de-value.

Got the DVD

Here's the review I did on finnBass. Should give you some idea. " I have Luminlay Fret Markers in both my ACG's and thought a review may be useful for anyone considering trying them. Alan is offering them as an option on his builds so if you are considering them, here goes. All the information about them is here: Luminlay Website They work on a similar principle to the luminous markers on watches. I have the 3mm Green ones in both my ACG's. They are energised using a small LED torch, (provided or purchase from Luminlay), whch shines blue light on the markers. According to Luminlay, Blue is the best colour to charge them up. It is the quality of the light rather than intensity or duration that has the optimum effect. After a 5sec charge they are initially quite bright and then fade very slightly keeping a constant glow. As all the bands I play in use LED srage lights, these will have an effect on the duration the dots glow for. They easily lasted a 1hr set and even after a 15-20 min break they were still glowing prior to a re-charge for Set 2. One band I play in is a Blues Brothers Tribute and even wearing the required Ray-Bans, the dots were clearly visible. Even when they have lost their charge the dots do seem easier to see than conventional Aluminium or Plastic ones. They are a little larger, (which helps), and the nature of the material seems to help as well. Are they an alternative to LED's? I would say yes. They are much cheaper for starters, particularly when specced at the start of the build as they are just fitted in place of normal dots. They do seem to get you through a typical set without "dying", although stage lights will help. Even a quick re-charge mid-set is no real hardship. Just do it whilst your singer is waffling or guitarist tuning up, (again)." __________________

I've got Luminlay Inserts on both my ACG's and they are fantastic. http://www.luminlay.com/ OK you need a guitar tech or luthier to fit them, but they are a real alternative to LED's and way, way cheaper.

WITHDRAWN Purple Chili Phat Bass 450 2 ohm Class D Amp
BassBunny replied to sk8's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Just curious but if it's a class D amp, why is it the size of a suitacse ?
The official Mike Walsh explanation. "The reason the head is this size is to accommodate the hight of the mains transformer that feeds the power supply to the three valves. Also the smoothing cap on the tube power supply is high as well. If I were only using transistors and a digital power amp with a switched mode power supply, I could have made a copy of (in size and tone) a Markbass or T.C. or Gallien or anything that the others do. However, I like to be different ( and why not)." -
Any decent bass manufacturers going to be there MB1?
Normally NO. I used to go to the Manchester one when i played guitar and it is great for "skinny stringed" players. Very little bass gear as a rule and certainly no bass specific exhibitors. I know Pete, who organises the shows and mentioned the lack of bass presence, but it gets pretty well attended without changes. Here's the full script. http://www.guitarshows.co.uk/liverpool%202011.htm

I really enjoyed that and it works perfectly with the video. It has put me in a very chilled state, which is excellent as I am now going out to gig.

I got some glow in the dark stick on fret markers from e-Bay for my Bass Collection. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4cfbaf824f Work a treat and they have been on for ages. I ordered just the side dots and there is enough to do 3-4 Basses. Only issue is that they can slip when the ambient temperature is on the high side. On my ACG's i had Luminlay markers fitted and they are the "poodles plums".

Where can you buy Bartolini pickups in the UK?
BassBunny replied to Spoombung's topic in General Discussion
Went to see Stevie Willliams band on Thursday and it's "All Change". Date moved to 6th November and now at Band on The Wall. He has managed to get Marcus Miller so it has moved to accomodate his schedule. He said the web-site will be updated this week-end. Daz, might be worth changing the date on the first posting and have it moved to events....
Martin, the DATE was changed to accomodate MM, but I can see how my wording may have been misleading. The RNCM issue over who would/could attend on the new date is between the organisers and the trade. If there wasn't enough trade interest, RNCM wouldn't be viable. Not much point in booking a place with loads of room if it isn't going to be used and doesn't cost in. At the end of the day, it is Stevie's project and he has done a fantastic job since the first one. He knows what will and won't work, but to expect him to book a place the size of RNCM if it then costs him money is just crazy. At the end of the day you have a choice, go or don't, simples.
Again! what was wrong with the R.N.C.M as a venue? Seems to me the events got smaller and the artists are now allowed to dictate where the event is held? What next? all round to Guy Pratts shed?
Why do you assume the artists dictate the venue? The RNCM costs a fair bit to hire and if not well supported by the trade I would imagine it is not financially viable. Add in the cost of a substantial PA hire for the day and In the current economic climate you need a fair bit of support to make it work. Entrance fees alone are not going to cut it if you want to attract top class performers. You could always give it a try Martin and see if you can make the numbers add up.

Absolutely awesome event and having been to every BassDay since 2006, (missed the first one), it ranks alongside the best IMHO. Having a venue with a resident in house PA and Sound Engineer was great. When Jah Wobble fritzed "the best amp in the world", and ended up swopping to Nigel's Eden 2x10 rig, the sound engineer managed to get his gut wrenching bass sound pretty quickly. Marcus was just awesome and genuinly entertaining. I think the question of it moving back to ICMP, (or anywhere of that size), will rest with Stevie. He has been successfully running BassDay for 7 years now and he is a very clued up individual. We do need to consider if the current economic climate is having an effect and also the London Show. Whilst we can bemoan the fact that there was "No Mark bass stand, no Matamp stand, no Orange stand etc etc." even if there was room would they have been there? The industry is having a tough time and when retailers such as Bass Merchant are folding, then times are tough. Most of the industry is based "dahn sarf" and with Bass Gear moving that way it is obvious where they consider their future customers are. With a 2 day "trade heavy" show in London in what amounts to just under 4 months if you had to choose, as a retailer, distributor etc., where would you go? I know which I would choose. It was interesting that Nick Wells was at BassDay launching iBassmag and has been a staunch supporter whilst also organising the London Show. It will be really interesting to see what happens next March. When you consider the size of the BassChat community, it is a wonder that a BassFest in Birmingham, (probably the best location for everyone), has never happened. Ped, where are you?

Phil, it was really great to see you there and I loved your session. Hope you come to the next one.
