Core strength exercises often help with backache. I often suffered after playing squash, and found certain ones help, and now rarely get back issues, but I do need to keep them up. Gotta be better than selling your favourite bass

Got a text from a certain Oxford promoter who also has a band, 6 pm Sunday asking for bass at 8.30 for a private party at a community centre. It was mainly a space-rock/funky jam for about 35 minutes, mainly in E, purely winging it. The partygoers seemed happy enough and were all up and dancing. Weird though. Quoted "Good times" in the (unplanned) bass spot which kept me happy for a while.

Looks ok to me.

Did they say what was causing it?

[/quote] I played on the same bill as a guy using the 100 w one and it sounded really good. Gig- worthy, I would say for sure, though everything was going through a decent p.a. I could hear the sound from it coming off the stage.

Very sad news.

We supported the 2 main guys from Miracle Legion last year, and the guitarist used an Epi 339. Sounded fine and he seemed very happy with it. He used it on the Andrew Marr show a couple of months later, if it's good enough for him.....

Rather than moving the bridge towards the nut, how about just getting longer screws for the saddles and a little strip of metal for them to sit on? Oh, and longer springs too.

Very hard to split the top 5 for me. Mine and one other at a lower level of execution. Well done to the rest of you!

Just got this comment from my drummer for this months entry: "Nice intro! Bit of a slow burner. Sounded like porn music at the guitar solo bit! Just add some funky guitar. Ha ha, good effort though. I like the side stick bit:-)" Probably tells you more about him than the music though

Sounds fine to me. I like the insistent bass.
