1. I noticed these a few years ago when they came out and was quite intrigued, they sound quite useful. I must also add that the SR500 in the background is rather tempting... Liam
2.
IMHO you could do no worse than taking a look @ the BH500/210 rig from TC Electronics and it also will fit your budget easily even brand new. you could always add another cab later for the full oomph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrtVa0oQk1Q I've just picked one up as a back up to my Staccato and it's absolutely awesome! Not as lightweight as the RH stuff but half the price and not at all heavy really in fact its definately sooooo much lighter than the Ashdown stuff you mentioned earlier. Don't forget with all the extras like spectracomp and tubetune and you probably won't need to use the other pedals either so less to carry! Mark @ Bass Direct also says it's the best bang for the buck too http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...0+Cabinets.html Hope this helps
I'd also reccomend one of these, i used one when my band played at Live and Unsigned and it sounded really nice set flat, plenty loud against 2 60w 1x12 Blackstar all valve combos on a big stage. Liam
3. Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift or if he ever actually toured with a band Basshunter, all of those would be good fer me. Liam
4. This is the rig i used in my Year 11 Leaver Assembly this afternoon Squier Jazz Deluxe V - Warwick ProFet 5.1 - Old Peavey 1x12 PA Cab. Covered the cab cause it looked tatty and the flag looks more menacing. Liam
5. Everything flat with the Bright switch engaged, and on my bass' pre its also flat, sometimes a mid boost. Liam
6. My band were in and won one on friday, didnt have to pay a thing to play, got an 8 hour studio session and CD production out of it. Another one we played was supposably rigged, which was believable, so they arent all good. Liam
7. I'll probably snatch up the 410 if you'll consider a courier (as long as its not too much) Liam
8. If your interested i have a Warwick ProFet 5.1 that i am willing to trade. Liam
9. Didn't have one last night, it was on friday instead. We won a Battle of the Bands so we got a free 8 hour studio session which is all good, our set went down extremely well with the crowd aswell. Only hiccup was losing power to all of the bass amps before it started so we didnt get a chance to soundcheck. Liam
10. If the rack doesnt go i'll take it. Liam
11. Thanks for the replies guys. 51m0n, i'll give your EQ trick a try tomorrow (Or as close as i can to those frequencies) and Alex if i turn off my bridge pickup my bass starts to hiss annoyingly, i'm in the process of converting my old Ibanez to a passive P-Bass so that might give me abit more luck. I'm gonna get an overdrive when i can, i found a guy who gets good results out of an ODB-3 so i might get one of those when i get the cash. Liam
12. Basically, i have a Warwick ProFet 5.1 and i find it too clean for my liking. I use a Squier 5 String Jazz bass and an old peavey 1x12 PA Cab (Not the best i know) and i want to know if theres any way i can get more aggression and bite out of my amp, without buying any effects. I don't know if its actually possible but i'd like to try if i can. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Liam
13. As with everyone else, i never tune before i leave home, unless i've been playing just before i set off. Otherwise its when i set my rig up, just before we start and in the interval. I once got hit by a car with my Ibanez GSR200 in a gig bag on my back, when i got to band practice although it had a nice chunk of the paint and body missing, it was in perfect Drop D tuning, which was what i was using, and my Squier also seems to stay in tune in my gig bag. Liam
14. A Day To Remember - All I Want. I'm torn between playing it on my 4 string in Drop C or my 5 in Standard, it sounds so good on both. Liam
15.
Love your band and that video mate. Tour up north sometime please
+1 to that, just gave it a quick view and i'm impressed, i'll definately be there if you come to Manchester or somewhere closeish. Good to hear the tour went well too. Liam
16. Would you possibly be interested in trading the Combo for a Warwick ProFet 5.1, if we can find a way to arrange it? Liam
17. I wouldn't, i hate the body shape, but £2000 for an Ibanez would be worth it on the SR and BTB Prestige models that i've played, but they arent in the £2000 price bracket. Liam
18.
Start a Bass revolution. I'd need a team though. One person to engineer a micro amp that was small/light enough to carry on your back but powerful enough to disturb the peace (and cause serious/deadly hearing injuries) and then a number of people with extended range basses. 6 strings or above an absolute must. Then blow the sh!t out of anyone/everyone who got in the way, with the low notes! Bring it on!!
That amp sounds like PJB jobbie, 3x5 neodynium drivers in a backpack sized cabinet complete with shoulder straps, class D power amp with an internal power supply (batteries?) that can amplify the signal from an active 6/7/8/12 string bass so no pre is needed and less weight. That would be awesome for busking, let alone to decimate people with the low end. Liam
19. Coldplay - Viva La Vida. Can be done easily without guitars. Liam
20. This is my last bump, i may also possibly accept a 1x12 combo, depending on the combo in question. Liam
21. My trusty 2007 Ibanez GSR200, almost the bottom of the ladder in terms of Ibanez's but its still rather good. As you can see its rather scratched and stickered up, it's had plenty of use since i got it, and also a few accidents too. Thinking of modifying it to a Warwick style HH configuration when i get the money, and also fitting either a new pre or having it all passive, but a 3 band pre with coil taps on the pickups and a 3 way pickup selector switch sounds appealing. Liam
22. I have a battered squire jazz body and a decent condition neck that i don't need if you have a way to get to Manchester? As i have no boxes to post anything with. Liam
23.
Another good idea, i'm in. Should we go down this route, does anyone know about how to source / obtain custom wristbands?
24hourwristbands.com do them, they're good quality stuff and not too expensive either, last time i looked they had an 80% off sale that put them at about 18p per wristband for an order of 300 embossed silicon ones, they even do glow in the dark. Liam
24. I'll admit it, although most gigs i go to i am actually playing so i'm also looking at it to see what i have to play through (Last 3 gigs have been 2 Ashdown MAG 1x15's, Ashdown 1x12 combo, Ashdown MAG 300, 410 and 115, so im doing well) but at other gigs i do always look at the gear, tend to see some good stuff too. EDIT 18/10/11: The last 3 gigs i played (Where i wasnt using the Line6) were DI Only (Which was HORRIBLE), My Warwick ProFet 5.1 through and old Peavey 1x12 i stole from our PA, and the same Warwick through an Ampeg SVT0810e, which was PHENOMENAL!! The bassist of the band who owned that was using Fender USA Precision - Line 6 Relay G30 - Boss TU-3 - Tech 21 VT Deluxe - Ampeg SVT 4 Pro - Ampeg SVT-810e, absolutely awesome tone. Liam
