1. One of my "Things to do in life" is go and sit near his memorial stone playing Anesthesia or For Whom The Bell Tolls, as well as actually visit his memorial. Although he died 9 years before i was born, so i never got the chance to see him, he's still one of, if not my biggest influence, and the reason i started playing bass. R.I.P. Clifford Lee Burton. 3. Thanks for that guys. I decided to take a plunge on the Warwick one this morning, should be here tomorrow. Liam
4. Nobody have any idea where to get a cheap one? I remember when you could pick these up on here for £20, now they're three times that. Liam
5. Hi all, I'm looking for a decent but cheap (I know they don't always go hand in hand) 4U Rack case, just something to throw my head in, and maybe a wireless system if i can afford one. Only looking to spend about £40, £50 Max, including delivery. Anyone know of the best place for one, not arsed whether its new or used. EDIT: Anyone know if this is decent quality or not? 6.
Did you See them Liam, couple of weekends ago?
I did, i did. Me being strange wanted a picture with the giant pandas, but i was busy, and wondering what the F@ck was going on. Liam
7. Right, now i know why there were 2 giant pandas in Manchester..... Awesome track, and an awesome video. Liam
8. Strangely, my band have never been asked to turn down, although i do think we control our volume relatively well. We do have limitations gear wise, such as me only using a 150w 1x12 combo most of the time, but even then, i can still hear myself and the crowd can without me cranking it to the max, i can even still hear the kick which isn't miked, and this is a pop/punk/alternative band too. Liam
9. Those are my personal favourites, those would both suit my band so well. Too bad i don't have a passive Jazz, SVT, P Deluxe, Ashdown ABM500, Ampeg SVT-410HLF, or any of the other crap that those guys have. Liam
10. For £50, that is the best deal i have ever seen on a drum kit. I can testify to the quality of the Pearl Export series, my bands drummer uses one and it blows kits 3x as expensive outta the water. Good luck with the sale, although it should go yesterday at that price. Liam
11.
I remember trying out a 'new' Ibanez BTB in a shop once with a horrible setup and really crackly pots. When I mentioned these to the assistant, he very helpfully advised me that 'basses are supposed to have high action', because 'otherwise you just get fretbuzz'. And that 'active basses always have noisy knobs, because of the electricity in them'
That has actually made my day. How someone can be that clueless and work in a music shop is beyond me. You would think that at least a basic knowledge of how guitars and basses work would be necessary. Liam
12. I love the Ibanez SR 6 strings, my mate has the SR506 and although its a tad neck heavy its really nice to play, and has a sound to match. Liam

14. I'm actually listening to my mates cover of 'Your Song' on her soundcloud, i think its rather good. Jessica Smith - Your Song Liam
15. Louis Foulkes of A Little Bit Outlaw, along with Matt Green on guitar and a beautiful facial expression from MJ on the drums and vocals. (No, MJ does not stand for Michael Jackson either) Liam
16.
I just use a hollowed out Ampeg 8x10. Enough space to store the missus too. Truckstop
Truckstop, thats an amazing idea, you got any pics of that by any chance? Liam
17. Just because i got bored and wanted to have a good mosh whilst playing, i learnt Trivium - In Waves and Five Finger Death Punch - The Bleeding. Both really easy but really fun. Liam
18. How the F**K is this still here? I know it's heavy but the sound on these combos is amazing. Have a bump for an awesome amp. Liam
19. Just something to add, a good way to keep fans interested is with sneak previews. When we have a big gig coming up we sometimes post a sneak preview of the set that we're going to be playing that night, just a few hours before sometime in the afternoon. I think it helps for getting the fans geared up and ready for a good night. Liam
20. We use Facebook as one of our main promotion tools in terms of gigs and stuff like that. We also have a soundcloud linked up with Facebook, a Youtube channel (Which has recieved views from France and the USA) and a myspace which is rarely used anymore. Our audience are all teens, so Facebook is a really good tool for us, as its all the rage nowadays. Liam
21. Smallest: 4 (Including bar staff) Largest: Around 180-200 We're a pretty young band, so its harder to get fans to our out of town gigs, as most of them are between say 14/15 and 18. Liam
22. One thing to remember is that those kinds of mics will pick up everything, so when you clear your throat or curse at that bum note you just hit, it will go through the PA system too. Liam
23. Stingray 5 Natural/Maple Stingray 4 3EQ White/Maple Fender American Precision Red/Maple Fender American Jazz Fretless Yamaha TRB1006J Line 6 Relay G90 Sansamp VT Bass Deluxe (Modded to be MIDI Footswitchable) EHX Bass Micro Synth Boss OC-3 Carl Martin Bass Chorus Boss DD-7 Dunlop Rack Crybaby Voodoo Labs GCX Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro w/Tap Tempo Peterson Stroborack Mesa Boogie Big Block 750 Mesa Boogie PH410 or PH212 (x2) Mic'd by an Electro-Voice RE-20 or Sennheiser MD-421 Yes, that is a large rig, but i would love to own it and have roadies to move it for me. EDIT: Just priced it all up on Thomann out of boredom and its over £15,000. I guess i better start saving. Liam
24. Just had a proper think about this, decided it'l be best to make myself up a small pedalboard with the VT, Tuner and another pedal or two on, and then just wrap all the cables in a shield-like thing i have to run out to the board and back. Thanks for the help anyway. Liam
25.
Not sure I get this either? I run my VT Deluxe on batteries (which appear to last forever, even when I inadvertently leave cables plugged in overnight) and one cable? Personally I suspect you might be over-thinking this
I probably am, but knowing me i'd end up going stupidly complicated with a MIDI switched rack effects setup sometime in my future. For now i'll just leave it simple and just get a VT bass, i'll sort out what i want to do with it when i get all my rack setup. Liam
