1. Not tried one, i think my next bass after my Stingray 5 will probably be a Squier VM Fretless Jazz, probably wont get much use in band though, maybe on softer tracks (Thats my prediction anyway, i might like it more than the Stingray) Liam
2. I tend to anchor on the pickup or B string, or use floating thumb, i don't take much notice of what technique im using. Liam
3. I paid £150 for my ProFet 5.1 around christmas, so i wouldnt expect it to be worth too much nowadays. Liam
4. Most likely Pop Punk, or possibly rock or alternative. Liam
5. My vote goes to either the bassist of Pendulum and his mirror Warwick, or Beyonce's bassist with her 2 white Warwicks, kinda strange coming from a guy who isnt really a fan of Warwick basses. Liam
6.
I would have thought that your set would be more aimed at people in their early to mid 20's as most of the audience you're aiming at-and yourselves- must have been between about 6-11 when most of your set were originally released?
Thats quite true actually, some of our stuff is from 10-15 years before any of us were born, but it all goes down really well and people seem to know it all, so thats what works for us. Jacqueslemac, Wilco and JoshL, your sets sound like cracking nights out to me, just the kind of stuff i like to play and hear. Liam
7. If the back of what your using looks like that, with 2 seperate outputs and one bridged, it is most likely 2 seperate power amps and you should be fine plugging a 4 ohm speaker into the left and right outputs. My bands PA is like this and we run a 4 ohm load on each side with ease. Liam
8. If you'll include the wide strap i may have a Squier Deluxe Jazz V i could trade. 51mm nut, 20 fret ebonol fingerboard, 3 band EQ, slight damage around the jack, but most of that is on the back. Liam
9. It will likely have passive pickups and an active preamp, as all Ibanez's i have seen have that configuration. So you can just pop in some passive pickups of your choice and wire them up to the existing active preamp or change the preamp if thats what you want. Liam
10. 3 For 2 Boss Pedals Theres one right there, but i do agree there isnt many. Liam
11.
S'funny. I'd been thinking about highlighting your list as being a bit more era-balanced, but thought it might seem like I was casting nasturtiums on the other guys. Frankly, IMO it seems like everyone here has pretty impeccable taste when it comes to their setlists Mind you, I'd enjoy your set as well. Which should come as a bit of a worry to you.
Nothign wrong with that, we like to try and please everyone. Our set is mostly aimed at our younger audience, but if it pleases some of the older (Over 20) people thats even better. We could even be considered family friendly nowadays, compared to last year. Liam
12. Now if my GSR200 looked that good (And had functioning Electronics) i wouldn't have any hesitations about gigging it at all. Liam
13. A guy im subscribed to on youtube once posted this video of his band at one of their gigs. Near the end of the song (4:50ish) he falls face first of stage, knocks some teeth out and snaps the upper horn off his Dean Razorback. Liam
14.
Not that I don't like these setlists. By God, I like 'em. Perfect evening out for me. But I'm 53 yrs old. For pity's sake, isn't anyone thinking about the children?
Take a look at my previous post, its aimed at a 15-20 audience (we're a rather young band, 16-18), with some older stuff but mostly teen stuff. We used to cater for all at one point with songs from the 70's to brand new releases. Liam
15. I quite like the "CAUTION - POTENTIALLY LETHAL VOLTAGES" written on in permanent marker, kinda shows the handmade factor abit. I would love that amp though, just not possible for me, or needed for that matter, but who doesnt buy stuff they dont need. Liam
16. That looks so much better than my Squier Jazz Deluxe V, i'd love one of those aslong as its the same quality as my current Squier. Liam
17. Only ever happened to me once, we were playing the theme tune from Ghostbusters as our encore, and we were dragging the song on for ages and i needed the loo, otherwise i can hold my drink down rather well, no matter what it is. Liam
18. And on the 6th day, God created MANchester. Welcome to Basschat, another manc here. Liam
19. Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet This Imperfect World of Mine - Original Blitzkrieg Bop - The Ramones Beverly Hills - Weezer 1985 - Bowling For Soup Never Get His Turn - Original Numb - Linkin Park I Believe I Can Fly - R Kelly (A Little Bit Outlaw Punk'd Version) Bad Reputation - Joan Jet The Anthem - Good Charlotte Rooftops - Lostprophets Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous - Good Charlotte 1999 - Original Monster - The Automatic Radioactive - Kings of Leon Lying Through My Teeth - Original Punk Rock 101 - Bowling For Soup Stacy's Mom - Fountains of Wayne Scotty Doesn't Know - Lustra Good Guys - Original Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus I Believe In a Thing Called Love - The Darkness 4 Piece Rock/pop/punk covers and original band. We have other stuff that isnt on there including some more originals and some stuff on there we've dropped. Liam
20. Gig bag for me, as i can't afford a decent hardcase, it wont fit in the car (Me, drummer, 4 piece drum kit and drummers dad), and i'd struggle to carry a hardcase and my amp. I do have a hardcase that i bought with my first bass, only cost me £30 but its quite solid, and also too big and heavy for me to use on a regular basis. Liam
21. Got a Warwick Profet 5.1 that i can trade if thats of any interest to you? Liam
22. One working, actually have 2 though, just one needs an electronics upgrade. Liam
23. Bump for forgetting about this, and also for saying i'd be willing to trade for a Micro head aswell. Liam
24. Right next to one of my favourite bassists aswell, nice to hear your doing well. Liam
25. Yes, you can, your amp will put out 300-350w at 8 ohm, you will just have to listen for when the the speaker starts to distort and then you know that you have to turn the amp volume down. Liam
