My mate has a TRB1005J which has a really solid B string, the electronics are top notch, definately a wide range of tones available and easy to play, very well balanced aswell if i remember correctly. Liam
I very much liked it, and nearly bought one (or the 5 string equivalent), the big sticking point in the end was the colour, brown and brown only, are you serious?
I actually quite like the colour of it, i have no idea why, but if they sold them over here i would probably go for an SR706, as its essentially the same bass but with a flamed maple top and has 2 colour choices i think.
Yeah i love my wee Ibby. Especially since I only paid £90 for it.
Now that i must say, is a DAMN good deal. I paid about £150 for mine in 2007 and since then its survived everything from 5ft drops, been hit with falling motorbike parts and involved in a car accident with only a gig bag on my back for protection, and still hasnt missed a beat. Absolutely awesome for the money. Liam

From the few i've played, i quite liked my friend Ibanez SR506, a little neck dive but really light and easy to play, all in all a really awesome bass. Liam

Welcome, and theres no shame in that trusty old Ibanez GSR200, they are actually rock solid basses for such little money. I still have one and love it, occasionally play it out still. Liam

i'd so go an extra few quid and get an ART XDirect or ZDirect, i found those pretty good. Liam

Ashdown 427 Small Block, Ashdown BTA300, Ashdown BTA400, Ashdown DP200H, Ashdown LB-30 Drophead 15H Combo. You missed a few Ashdowns i think. Liam

Audacity for Windows... anyone used it, recommends it?
LiamPodmore replied to Grand Wazoo's topic in Recording
Why would you want to do that? (unless I've missed the point!)
To record over part of a track? Incase you screw up on the recording, or think a part needs a little change. On another note, that i forgot to mention in my previous post, i think that Audacity is okay but like others i recommend Reaper. Liam -
If i could sing i could manage it, because i tend not to concentrate on my bass as i don't really need to, for some reason i can play without conentrating, but i can't sing very well so i dont need to anyway. Liam

My band have just recorded our latest acoustic track, which is a cover of the Fountains of Wayne classic Stacy's Mom. Recorded this sunday (26/06/11) at our drummers house using a Rock Band USB Microphone and Audacity. We also have another acoustic track on there which is an original of ours called 1999. So, what do you guys think? Liam

LiamPodmore replied to Grand Wazoo's topic in Recording
Both recorded with a Rock Band USB Microphone and Audacity, its easy to use but has major flaws, such as its hard to figure out how to record over part of a track, without having to do it on a new track (We still havent figured it out) Liam -
I had to do it on my Ibanez when Fender took 8 weeks to replace my Jazz V, i had to give it a setup, didnt have to file the nut down as the .125 B i was using just fit and it worked fine for me. Made some songs a little awkward not having the G string though. Liam

Not tried one, i think my next bass after my Stingray 5 will probably be a Squier VM Fretless Jazz, probably wont get much use in band though, maybe on softer tracks (Thats my prediction anyway, i might like it more than the Stingray) Liam

I tend to anchor on the pickup or B string, or use floating thumb, i don't take much notice of what technique im using. Liam

No idea how much my amp is worth (warwick 300w)
LiamPodmore replied to krazy_olie's topic in Amps and Cabs
I paid £150 for my ProFet 5.1 around christmas, so i wouldnt expect it to be worth too much nowadays. Liam -
Most likely Pop Punk, or possibly rock or alternative. Liam

My vote goes to either the bassist of Pendulum and his mirror Warwick, or Beyonce's bassist with her 2 white Warwicks, kinda strange coming from a guy who isnt really a fan of Warwick basses. Liam
I would have thought that your set would be more aimed at people in their early to mid 20's as most of the audience you're aiming at-and yourselves- must have been between about 6-11 when most of your set were originally released?
Thats quite true actually, some of our stuff is from 10-15 years before any of us were born, but it all goes down really well and people seem to know it all, so thats what works for us. Jacqueslemac, Wilco and JoshL, your sets sound like cracking nights out to me, just the kind of stuff i like to play and hear. Liam

If the back of what your using looks like that, with 2 seperate outputs and one bridged, it is most likely 2 seperate power amps and you should be fine plugging a 4 ohm speaker into the left and right outputs. My bands PA is like this and we run a 4 ohm load on each side with ease. Liam

Skylark Plexiglass 5 string with DR HiDef Neon Pink Strings

It will likely have passive pickups and an active preamp, as all Ibanez's i have seen have that configuration. So you can just pop in some passive pickups of your choice and wire them up to the existing active preamp or change the preamp if thats what you want. Liam
S'funny. I'd been thinking about highlighting your list as being a bit more era-balanced, but thought it might seem like I was casting nasturtiums on the other guys. Frankly, IMO it seems like everyone here has pretty impeccable taste when it comes to their setlists Mind you, I'd enjoy your set as well. Which should come as a bit of a worry to you.
Nothign wrong with that, we like to try and please everyone. Our set is mostly aimed at our younger audience, but if it pleases some of the older (Over 20) people thats even better. We could even be considered family friendly nowadays, compared to last year. Liam

Veneering an Ibanez GSR200 - tips & tricks
LiamPodmore replied to Andyjr1515's topic in Build Diaries
Now if my GSR200 looked that good (And had functioning Electronics) i wouldn't have any hesitations about gigging it at all. Liam -
A guy im subscribed to on youtube once posted this video of his band at one of their gigs. Near the end of the song (4:50ish) he falls face first of stage, knocks some teeth out and snaps the upper horn off his Dean Razorback. Liam
