1.
Thanks matey, it's very pretty! Sounds amazing too! Sooo good for the 'relatively' small price (same price as a normal 55-01).
Yeah, every Lakland i've played (Only been 2 or 3 though) has been well worth the cash, and 55-01's are relatively low priced compared to some basses, and easily worth even more. Liam
2. That is one nice Lakland. I sometimes wish i could go in to a shop and come out with something like that, normally its a few picks or a pack of strings for me. Liam
3.
...All I need is a lot of money which I haven't got at the moment...
I'll make a bet with you that you have even less money, and want even more things after spending 2 months on here. Liam
4. Ultimate Guitar is what i use. Only ever really download Guitar Pro files but the actual tabs i've looked at on there are pretty accurate for the most part. Liam
5. Welcome to the forums. Sounds like you have quite a nice bass collection there. Rockbasses are rather good, especially at the price they are on here. Liam
6. Now why didn't this pop up a month ago i spent £44 on a Warwick Eco Line 4U Case. Just wondering how you've secured the power board to the case too? After doing this myself. GREAT QUALITY CASE AT AN AWESOME PRICE PEOPLE!! Liam
7. Gotta admit that i do love Hysteria, Chris is a PHENOMENAL player, but there are much better basslines than that, even by Muse. My favourites are: Muse - Plug In Baby (Awesome root, 5th and octave line) Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Dani California Metallica - Orion and Anesthesia (More of a solo really) A Whilhelm Scream - The Horse (AWESOME Tapping in the first verse) Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills Trivium - Anthem (We Are The Fire), In Waves and Kirisute Gomen (Yes, i like Trivium) Pokemon Theme Tune All of these are my opinion of course, and i love playing them all, no matter how much i struggle with some (Kirisute Gomen and The Horse mostly) Liam
8. If only it had that pretty red finish that the Promethean has. I've never tried one out, but i love the look of those heads. If the HB is good and reliable though i may give it a try. Liam
9. I'm planning on adding a Wizard Thumper to my GSR200. Not sure what to put in the bridge though. Wonder if they'd do me a set with a Thumper and the double jazz bridge pickup they do, that sounds like it could be fun. Liam
10. RHCP - Dani California Jet - Are You Gonna Be My Girl? Alien Ant Farm/Michael Jackson - Smooth Criminal. (But more the AAF Version) Those are the 3 i would go for, strangely, also all played live by my band, although we dropped Smooth Criminal after 2 gigs as we were SH*TE at it. Liam
11. Not a problem with Peavey gear myself, except the weight of course. As well as their bass stuff, they do some amazing guitar amps too. My bands rhythm guitarist uses a tiny little Vypyr 30 Combo which is loud as hell, and we recorded our frst single using the producers 6505 head, gorgeous tone. Liam
12. If i had an extra £100 i'd actually be tempted to travel to Leeds and back to get these, Liam
13. Monster Mash, Grab the Devil By The Horns and F*ck Him Up The Ass - Sum 41, Beezleboss - Tenacious D, and whatever else i think of. Liam
14. I think i've posted this in the calendar too, but here goes. A Little Bit Outlaw (See sig) are playing at Manchester Academy 3, supporting Boomin on the 12th of November. Tickets are £6 or £7 on the door, and the lineup is as follows: Boomin (Headline) Finding Emo A Little Bit Outlaw New Avenue These guys sold out their last Academy show, which was only a 2nd support slot (Same spot we are) which led to the venue putting on an Afterparty for them at a pub across the road. The same will be happening for this gig, so as soon as it finishes we'll be heading across the road for one hell of a night. I'll add links to the bands pages later when they aren't blocked (I'm at work) or ALBO can be found in my sig. Thanks for reading, hope to see some of you there. Liam
15. Bump for something i've never seen before, an SVT Combo. This looks rather fun and interesting, but also heavy and scares my bank account as there's nout in it at the moment. Liam
16.
I actually like the Picato flat wounds! Regardless of the Price and have had several sets with no problems, in fact I am sure I have a set taken off a Spector Rebop if your beater bass has two a side machine head layout, then you can have them FOC,
Not to Hijack but if Iconic doesnt take these i will. Quite interested in a cheap set of flats myself, just to try them out, as i've never used them before, so this could be of use to me, and £16?! That's less than i pay for the rounds i use on my Squier!! Liam
17.
Don't suppose there's a video of this is there?
Unfortunately not, although i do wish there was, that would be an amazing moment for You've Been Framed, get myself £300 off that... Liam
18. Local charity festival thing last year, the start of our set was in D Standard, so i had brought my 4 string along too because it was easier than transposing it on my 5 string. We're all onstage ready to go, just tuning up and PING! Snapped my E and A (Well, D and G really, as i was tuned down) strings. 5 string with a capo it is.... Another gig, last month. I had sat on the edge of the stage for a slower bit in a song, and tried to do that thing where you jump up and backwards to get back onto the stage, only i didnt jump high enough. So for the last chorus of Teenage Dirtbag i was lay in a heap on the floor, having hit my head on a cymbal stand and somehow sprained my wrist in the process, whilst still playing along. Liam
19.
It's even better playing with a drummer who can play an acoustic kit quietly...

+1 They do exist. I know several.
I'm in a band with one. He's so good at it that we can have a band rehearsal with 2 acoustic guitars, 25w bass amp and an unmuted acoustic kit (Rock sizes, 22x1 8 kick, 14x6 snare, 12" and 16" toms) with cymbals. I know what you mean about many things being too loud, i think a lot of pub bands are, and i'm 16. I tend to find that i have my earplugs in my pocket any time i'm going out and know theres a possibility of live music. Liam
20. Is there any chance of postage? If so i could possibly take these. Liam
21. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
22. Thomman do them as far as i can remember. Its a tenner for postage though, so they don't really work out that cheap unless you spend a fair few quid. Liam
23.
Sounds like what you need is a nice MAG300-210 combo with a built-in sub-harmonic...
That isnt as stupid an idea as you made it out to be. There's a local band (You've probably heard of them) called Boomin who's bassist uses an Ashdown ABM and they have a huge sound every time i hear them play. Liam
24. Are you willing to split it? I would be interested in one of the 2x12's if you're willing to ship. Liam
25. Thanks guys. I might just grab 2 of those and try them in a gig situation, hopefully they'l be good for what i want. If not, as Mr_Anthony says, there's always the 30 day returns policy. Liam
