Not that I don't like these setlists. By God, I like 'em. Perfect evening out for me. But I'm 53 yrs old. For pity's sake, isn't anyone thinking about the children?
Take a look at my previous post, its aimed at a 15-20 audience (we're a rather young band, 16-18), with some older stuff but mostly teen stuff. We used to cater for all at one point with songs from the 70's to brand new releases. Liam

I quite like the "CAUTION - POTENTIALLY LETHAL VOLTAGES" written on in permanent marker, kinda shows the handmade factor abit. I would love that amp though, just not possible for me, or needed for that matter, but who doesnt buy stuff they dont need. Liam

Damn! VMJ 5er.Just when you think you've got enough basses

That looks so much better than my Squier Jazz Deluxe V, i'd love one of those aslong as its the same quality as my current Squier. Liam -
Only ever happened to me once, we were playing the theme tune from Ghostbusters as our encore, and we were dragging the song on for ages and i needed the loo, otherwise i can hold my drink down rather well, no matter what it is. Liam

POLL! Who uses a hard case for gigs, and who uses a gig bag?
LiamPodmore replied to Evil Undead's topic in General Discussion
Gig bag for me, as i can't afford a decent hardcase, it wont fit in the car (Me, drummer, 4 piece drum kit and drummers dad), and i'd struggle to carry a hardcase and my amp. I do have a hardcase that i bought with my first bass, only cost me £30 but its quite solid, and also too big and heavy for me to use on a regular basis. Liam -

Just scored a Sandberg Endorsement!
LiamPodmore replied to longtimefred's topic in General Discussion
Right next to one of my favourite bassists aswell, nice to hear your doing well. Liam -
Yes, you can, your amp will put out 300-350w at 8 ohm, you will just have to listen for when the the speaker starts to distort and then you know that you have to turn the amp volume down. Liam

Ibanez DAB1-1 'desktop' bass amplifier...and tiny cabs
LiamPodmore replied to ahpook's topic in Amps and Cabs
I noticed these a few years ago when they came out and was quite intrigued, they sound quite useful. I must also add that the SR500 in the background is rather tempting... Liam -
IMHO you could do no worse than taking a look @ the BH500/210 rig from TC Electronics and it also will fit your budget easily even brand new. you could always add another cab later for the full oomph. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrtVa0oQk1Q I've just picked one up as a back up to my Staccato and it's absolutely awesome! Not as lightweight as the RH stuff but half the price and not at all heavy really in fact its definately sooooo much lighter than the Ashdown stuff you mentioned earlier. Don't forget with all the extras like spectracomp and tubetune and you probably won't need to use the other pedals either so less to carry! Mark @ Bass Direct also says it's the best bang for the buck too http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp...0+Cabinets.html Hope this helps
I'd also reccomend one of these, i used one when my band played at Live and Unsigned and it sounded really nice set flat, plenty loud against 2 60w 1x12 Blackstar all valve combos on a big stage. Which mainstream artist would you like to play for?
LiamPodmore replied to Musicman20's topic in General Discussion
Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift or if he ever actually toured with a band Basshunter, all of those would be good fer me. Liam -
This is the rig i used in my Year 11 Leaver Assembly this afternoon Squier Jazz Deluxe V - Warwick ProFet 5.1 - Old Peavey 1x12 PA Cab. Covered the cab cause it looked tatty and the flag looks more menacing. Liam

Everything flat with the Bright switch engaged, and on my bass' pre its also flat, sometimes a mid boost. Liam

My band were in and won one on friday, didnt have to pay a thing to play, got an 8 hour studio session and CD production out of it. Another one we played was supposably rigged, which was believable, so they arent all good. Liam

Didn't have one last night, it was on friday instead. We won a Battle of the Bands so we got a free 8 hour studio session which is all good, our set went down extremely well with the crowd aswell. Only hiccup was losing power to all of the bass amps before it started so we didnt get a chance to soundcheck. Liam

Any way i can bet more bite and aggression out of my amp?
LiamPodmore replied to LiamPodmore's topic in Amps and Cabs
Thanks for the replies guys. 51m0n, i'll give your EQ trick a try tomorrow (Or as close as i can to those frequencies) and Alex if i turn off my bridge pickup my bass starts to hiss annoyingly, i'm in the process of converting my old Ibanez to a passive P-Bass so that might give me abit more luck. I'm gonna get an overdrive when i can, i found a guy who gets good results out of an ODB-3 so i might get one of those when i get the cash. Liam -
Basically, i have a Warwick ProFet 5.1 and i find it too clean for my liking. I use a Squier 5 String Jazz bass and an old peavey 1x12 PA Cab (Not the best i know) and i want to know if theres any way i can get more aggression and bite out of my amp, without buying any effects. I don't know if its actually possible but i'd like to try if i can. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Liam

As with everyone else, i never tune before i leave home, unless i've been playing just before i set off. Otherwise its when i set my rig up, just before we start and in the interval. I once got hit by a car with my Ibanez GSR200 in a gig bag on my back, when i got to band practice although it had a nice chunk of the paint and body missing, it was in perfect Drop D tuning, which was what i was using, and my Squier also seems to stay in tune in my gig bag.
