  1. Past hour
  2. We generally have a mixed age group. Lot of younger ones think the Glam band is just a great fun night and we've had hen nights, women's birthday parties etc at our gigs but always dancing. Think its the style of music. Glam is a dancing kind of music whereas blues tends to have people that enjoy the musicianship more than a dance if that makes sense, until the drink hits, then folks will dance to anything 😂 Dave
  3. "I'm sticking it to The Man/making a stand for artistic freedom by playing a load of wrong notes". Cool.
  4. If you don’t want it going through your personal account, set up a separate account for the band with someone like Starling and make all payments in/out of that. 10 minute job to get one up and running.
  5. Just donated. Best wishes and hope Lee holds onto his bass.
  6. I don't know Lee but more than happy to help
  7. Top bloke. - what @walshy just said. More than happy to help. 😘
  8. I'm sure this has been covered many times but I can't find a relevant thread. I've never had anything to do with payment side regarding gigs, the band leader has always sorted it. In a new band and there isn't a band leader as such so we're a bit in the dark on some things. We've got a gig coming up where the pub pays by bank transfer (on the day). This seems to be the way a lot of pubs etc are going. If it's a regular payment method for the places we're going to be playing, what's a good way of organising it for a band? To be honest I wouldn't want regular transfers going into my account and the 3 transfers going out... Cheers
  9. It's as good as the Strandberg I used to have, without the stupid neck.
  10. Swinging the Chain - Black Sabbath
  11. I get that. I suppose it’s because the only fretless basses I’ve had have had no dots or lines. If I try and look at the double bass neck when shifting it can put it all out of whack causing intonation issues. (To be fair, it sounds awful whatever I do.)
  12. I've never heard this said before about Sadowskys 🤔 Interestingly I've had passive Fender Jazz basses that disappeared into the mix with both pickups on full.
  13. A good comparison: the Markbass CMD 121P is a very good benchmark in my view
  14. Today
  15. Amp placement is also a factor. Having it projecting at the back of the instrument can be an issue. Not always, but can. If you stand to the side of it, that might alleviate immediate problems.
  16. Done chaps, @lee650 is a bloody legend. Let me know if I or VBR can help
  17. Hi Andy-Is this for still for sale ? PM with want your wanting inc haggle room for qiuck sale Hardcase and bitz etc and the small matter of P & P to GU9 Farnham-I known its not too bad cos I bought a P Bass yesterday from geordieworld and ther were no moans re that deal. 18. Doesn't the original have brass? To be honest, I can't be bothered to bring a brass section into the pub for a single song. So the bass and guitar will have to have a different arrangement to cover that song. Black Crowes arrangement, Otis Reding, Committments, or our arrangement. Most people are just listening to the singer.
  19. The book? Of course. Send me your address.
  20. Great colour, great bass GLWS

  24. Working On A Chain Gang - Sam Cooke
  25. Class pedal - I feel like these original ones have a bit of mojo that the new ones don’t quite have
  26. Be aware that most distortion / fuzz type pedals, and chorus, and random others, return a signal that is 180 degrees, or some other random amount, off from the original signal. This has no effect on a series fx loop but when you are blending an effected signal with clean you can get an unpleasant mishmash.
