  2. The buyer can easily customize this with the @Kiwi carbon neck. Would be one serious instrument.
  3. Hanging Around - The Stranglers
  4. Yeah that's true. It's like some people rate TI's and LaBella Flats and to me, those aren't in my top 5 flats. IMO/IME, I reckon it's how the strings mate to your pickup. I've tried the same string on several basses (p-bass and jazz) and they sound garbage. Then I put them on my Warwick and they sound perfect. So on my Warwick I have GHS Flats, my parts p-bass with MEC actives I have Dunlop Flats and my daughters p-bass with DiMarzio Relentless Middle pickups has the Fender 9050L strings. But yeah, definitely horses for courses 😊👍🏽
  5. I'll take this Mike!
  6. I bought a US jazz off a guy in clacton on sea one Saturday about 7 years ago, and he gave me an old HH VS bassamp and an Ashdown 15 cab he no longer wanted, I think he was moving out of his flat, I’ve still got the amp, a few of the knob’s have a slight crackle but it’s still going and sounds quite good . a few years later an elderly gentleman came round to see my Ashdown mag amp I had advertised, he hadn’t played for years and wanted to get back into it, he bought the amp and I gave him the cab for free
  7. Dakota Red Squier Precision 40th Anniversary Vintage Edition in excellent as new condition and fitted with a series/parallel pull/push volume knob. I've recently moved house and realised I have too many Precisions so I need to thin the herd. Bought new on a whim and only left the house when I moved 🙂 The series/parallel is a subtle thing but noticeable, which is probably why they never really caught on with p-basses. Price includes postage, or collection and I'll knock a bit off. If I can find a basic gig-bag I'll throw it in.

  8. Someone you've never heard of who appears in a TV programme with "Celebrity" in the title.
  9. "Top Tonewoods", "Best basses for metal".
  10. The Keith McMillen Batt-O-Meter works very well, with the proviso that you can't check an 18V preamp by plugging in to the jack socket, you need to take the batteries out and test them individually.
  11. I'd buy it in a heartbeat but I have the same head unit (amongst others) and a couple of TE cabs ( a 2x10 + 1x15) so really can't justify it. 🫤
  12. If anyone is thinking of getting some PJB gear, here’s a 20% off discount code…
  13. Stunning bass, and excellent playing. 👏
  14. This is already a bargain - I paid £165 for mine second-hand and was glad to find one at that price.
  15. Hi Mark, no this is neither small or light, sorry. I’ll see if I can get a weight from Ashdown, but in all honesty - much like an SVT - if you need to know the weight, this probably isn’t the unit for you 😕
  16. Bought this 4 months ago from Thomann. Used twice in my studio which is smoke free. This is an incredibly powerful bit of kit. As well as creating amazing sounds, it can also be used as a 2in/2out audio interface. Super versatile, compact, lightweight and sturdy. Comes with original box, power lead and unopened manuals. No marks at all. Absolutely like new. Collection preferred but can meet within a reasonable distance of Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan. Postage and packing included in price. Thanks in advance. Take care. Cheers ☺️✨

  18. I think it depends on the amount of solder you use. My understanding is that silder will ooze under pressure, so your screw-tight pressure will reduce over time, and eventually become a faulty connection. David
  19. Send it back I reckon. It sounds like you've invested £1000 into something that you don't love and aren't going to pick up and play much. You'll instantly lose at least £400 if you flip it in a few months and investing a further £700 in it makes no sense at all to me as it will still not be a real Bongo.
  20. I bought a vintage 70's P bass a few months ago and in the case was a 70's Melos Mini Fazer (Univox). It even had a decades old battery in it. I swapped the battery and it works fine!
  21. i bought an ibanez sr1000 japan soundgear years back that came in an early 70s fender hardcase which i still have.
  22. I am really liking these. Lovely feel. A touch less tension would be great but I’m sticking with them.
  23. The bargain got even better. I wanted to change strings so looked on Amazon hoping for a black Friday deal. I was looking for D'addario Chromes flats and they had a short scale set listed as used like new for £22. I was cynical thinking what I'd end up with was a cut down, unbranded long scale set but they arrived and were genuine chromes and uncut. Looks like somebody took them out of the pack and didn't like the look of them. They work absolutely brilliantly on the bass. Having played on it all morning I concur with the review above that the bass can hold it's own with much more expensive instruments. In a blind test if I was told this cost £600- £700 I'd have thought it was good value for that . Why oh why Cort hadn't designed out the neck dive issue I'll never know, as it would have been a 10/10 bass without it.
