  2. Aren't they just inversions of each other?
  3. Thanks @neepheid, I’ll try that.
  4. If this decal is the serial number then it's 0471159.
  5. We use Powered PA cabs for monitors (for those that dont use IEM) and I hate it. Drummer has a 1x15 right by his kit, and his mic not only picks the drums up, but the monitor as well. He is very old school and won't change. Its like they want to be professional and want good monitors, but have no clue that this is overkill for our gigs and effects the sound for the audience. I now insist we sound check with all mic's active and try and balance it all out front. On smaller gigs we might as well not even take a PA. In fact the monitors have the same power as our FOH. I guess this counts as having a back up if nothing else.
  6. Or if you want a bit of a challenge, when 15 strings isn't enough:
  7. We dropped it because the singer felt he couldn't nail the phrasing. In my view, when it's like that, it means it's improvisational and the singer can do what he bloody well likes... it's what I do with basslines full of random noodles!
  8. My Boss LMB-3 has died on me! It’ll only come on if sideways force is applied to the power supply lead. It goes off as soon as this force is taken off. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? Thanks
  9. Various Postmortem Jukebox type songs. No point learning the originals as the covers are usually different chords. Am6 instead of Dm, really? 🙄
  10. Don’t give me an excuse! Fortunately, my wallet is a bit empty at the moment. I could always put my BF Two10 alongside switched to 12 ohm. My U700 could handle that (approx 2.67 ohms) but nearly all the power would go to the Monzas, or feed the DI out from the U700 to the LMIII and have both sets of speakers running at 4 ohms. Hmmm
  11. I didn’t know they sounded different as I went straight for the Pro, cheers

  13. Absolutely, I am sure I will come across one at some point. Sadly, Norfolk is a little far away despite visiting the Lotus factory a few times and my daughter racing at Ellough Park once a year.
  14. Similarly disappointed. (My dad-joke on seeing "Huge carpet sale" signs.)
  15. Shameless plug Personally the Boss Katana Go is better than either. The MP2 sounds better than the Pro to me but the volume control only being in the app made me get the Pro. The pro slowly removed any joy out of playing bass, it doesn’t sound bad, like not that you go oh I hate this, but you find you don’t enjoy playing much with it took me a few months to realise what the problem was. I didn’t have this with the MP2 but as above and even though I’m selling one, Boss Katana Go is much better and the Darkglass Element is better still but faffier to just noodle when you feel like it.
  16. So this just arrived from the lovely folk over at Anderton’s. I’ve been sans compression on my board for a while since convincing myself I didn’t need it and selling my Spectracomp, but I recently came to the confusion this was a mistake. As much as I loved the Soectracomp, the requirement to engage with software to tweak the parameters made me shy away from a like-for-like replacement, and both the Empress and the Cali 76 were identified as possible candidates. After a late night YouTube session I settled on the Empress. Looking forward to getting to know this over the weekend and then all being well, gig it next weekend.
  17. I've posted this in the Double bass section but was suggested to post here too, I'm Hoping to tap into the combined wisdom of the forum here. I'm loaning my PA out to a ceilidh band for a wedding gig tomorrow (Saturday 24th May) and one of the instruments is a double bass, I don't believe that they have a pickup or an onboard mic fitted so my plan is to put a mic in front of it and hope for the best. I have a selection of mics available to me but i'm not sure which would be most suitable, the setup and soundcheck time is extremely short so i'm not going to have time to experiment. from the list of mics below which one would be the most suitable and what position/direction would be best? Red5 Audio - RV6/RV8/RV10 Rode - M3 Audix D6/i5 SE - X1 AKG - P4/D5 Shure - SM58 Beta Audio_technica - ATM10a this is the total list of mics that I can lay my hands on before the gig so i've got to pick one, so which one would you use? i'll have 1 hour to get into the hall, set up, and soundcheck before the wedding party arrives so I'm trying to be as prepared as possible. I've already got Di boxes and preamps on hand and all the mics are ready to go into the car. Thanks Matt
  18. Apparently there will be some available in europe but thats just from a random forum post I saw
  19. The best option would be to try one out. There are quite a few LFSys owners around the UK. I’m based in Norfolk, which is convenient for no one (unless you are in the neighbourhood) but someone nearer to you might be prepared to let you have a go.

Charlie bought a set of EMG's from me, nice smooth transanction and a gentleman to deal with...
  21. thanks @Beedster the band in question seems to be a very casual affair, just paging at small community events and the usual PA seems to be a very budget setup, I think this is a wedding for a friend or similar and the PA owner isn;t around so that's why they're using my kit (the guitarist is my best friend and also the guitarist and frontman in our band) I've been told that the double bass will need a mic so was planning to have a solution in place just in case, i'll also have a Di box/preamp on hand, we've got 1 hour to get into the hall, set up and soundcheck and be all ready for the wedding party so I want to be as prepared as possible I'll post this over in the PA section as well. Thanks
  22. In my experience, sometimes the supplied allen key with basses is of dubious quality (and dimensions) - use a decent one which you know is 1.5mm or 2mm or whatever you need.
  23. my lord that is sexy. Other than paint job and possibly bridge is everything stock?
  24. I've used the Mooer A7 Ambient Reverb for about 2 years with my fretless and I wouldn't leave home without it. It is an absolutely brilliant reverb pedal and I can't fault it.
  25. That is so very very interesting as the boominess you describe is exactly the thing that drives me mad with my Two10. I've always thought of it that at certain frequencies it goes a bit mushy but boominess is more accurate. The tone can be lovely under certain frequencies but then, other frequencies, I get that boominess and the clarity vanishes. I've also noticed it running out of steam in the highs as I play quite a lot of high melodies. I am also using a LM IV 500w so not that different to you. In comparison, when I use my TC Electronic 208 and Warwick Gnome, my fretless sounds absolutely beautiful and I run that flat which is bass at 10 o'clock, mids at 2 o'clock and treble at 2 o'clock. I know they are not like for like but its closer to the tone I like. I've also used a Fender Rumble 500 v2 combo a few times and every time, my fretless sounded fabulous to the point that the band have commented mid gig and members of the audience have complimented me afterwards. So it is an interesting assessment and it does sound like an LFSys cab would really suit me.
