  2. Running To Stand Still - U2
  3. I know Ric bashing is a sport but I love a good Ricky. But if, and it is only if, the body size and neck length are the same as a normal 4003, then I can't see the point in this short scale. Yes it'll sound slightly different but with a full size body and neck then you've lost a lot of the appeal of a short scale. Just move that bridge back, put a horseshoe in the space created and make it sound like a real Ricky should. Unless the body and neck are shorter, then ignore me, I'm talking shite. 😁
  4. Demon FX Sim Amp Bass Station - Preamp/Cab Sim/DI. Bought from Ali Express last month just because I was ordering other things and wanted to try it out! Paid £58 for it It’s a clone of the DSM Humboldt Bass Station. It had 3 band preamp is based on an Ampeg SVT, can be clean or crank the gain for SVT/tube OD, there is also a parallel ‘clean’ path which gives you a really fat low end (which can be enhanced with the LPF @ 500 or 100hz and blend in as much or little as you want) - I didn’t really get this until I played with it, but it works fantastically well to give you fat clean low end underneath the effected signal. There are two fx loops - one for the preamp side and one for the clean side, so you can run OD pedals on the preamp side and then blend in clean signal from the parallel path into it and so it makes any effect pedal you couldn’t use due to losing low end useable again!. There is also an effect loop on the parallel path - there’s loads of yt videos of the DSM version showing how thes fx loops can be used creatively/best Lastly there is the Cab Sim which is outstanding, offering 3 different cabs (115/410/810) and controls for resonance, mic position and wet/dry blend with the preamp/parallel side. It also has two DI’s - one for the effected signal and one that is the clean parallel path only. ALSO - this can be used just as a cab sim by plugging your preamp out into the FX loop return on the preamp fx loop, and honestly the cab sim is really very good. Quality is good - sound and build, and if you look on Google etc there’s a fair amount of feedback from people comparing it to the original DSM version positively Paid £58 for it last month and I’ve played with it for a few hours at home, but that’s all. Happy to give someone a bargain here - it’s a decent little unit, plenty of stuff to play about with and it’s sounds spot on - also you don’t have to wait 3 weeks for it to turn up from China 😁 Absolute bargain - £25 shipped!
  5. I have a beaten Washburn Status copy somewhere. I didn't like the thickness of the neck, nor some parts of the body. One very skilled carpenter removed the lacquer, and shaved the back of the neck quite some. I played that bass maybe four years, until I bought a Modulus. Try to shave the back of the neck. A couple of millimetres will already make a difference.
  6. That SVT-AV is my dream amp!

  9. I didn't think they could make them any uglier
  10. Few coming gigs have made me busy in the evenings, but I need to take a look at those newer singers in the near future. Thank you for your excellent work, @ChrisDev.
  11. Not a dingwall fan but the extender is a good idea for hanging, if that is what it is for!
  12. I spent years looking for a second one of these, and one pops up not long after I buy a pair of Orange 115s. 🤣😂 Great cab btw. Monstrously loud, with a clear, but vintage sound. I still take mine to band practice rather than the Orange cabs. Best of luck with the sale.
  13. Ah the colour is phthalo blue, it's a Crimson guitars water based stain
  14. Three Bog Night (Must have been the dodgy kebab 🥙 💩)
  15. BIN Though ‘bine inch nails’ doesn’t work. So abbreviation only. Nine Inch Snails has a good ring to it though if you prefer the long form… though that breaks the rules. Sorry.
  16. Really good basses - GLWTS
  17. Today
  18. Great basses. Beautiful necks. I’ve got a Precision that I took the neck off and replaced it with one from one of these. Perfection 😁
  19. That's a US custom shop model too.
  20. Got nuffin
  21. Gorgeous bass, and that looks even better in the flesh. GLWTS.
  22. How about top right burger menu, then envelope icon?.
  23. The modern Spector bridge is superior to the BadAss. I'm happy to be educated but as someone who has had intimate contact with both kinds over many years, I don't see the advantage of Leo Quan's bridge on an NS style bass.
  24. I cannee see it captain
  25. I do the majority of the onstage banter in my duo. I have always had a quick wit and as our music is definitely darker in tone, it lifts the mood. I worked with a singer a few years ago who was naturally effortless at this onstage (not so good without a mic, ironically) and I learned a lot from working with him. The best line from our last show was as we finished the set, our backing track started up again. I stopped it and said down the mic, “So sorry, you’d not asked for an encore!” I think it is a difficult balance between not being too full of yourself, not putting your act down, not going on too much but keeping people entertained. I think I usually get it about right but don’t sweat it too much if I don’t.
