  1. Past hour
  2. The website has now passed a quarter of a million hits.
  3. I've bought from Will on two occasions and will do again I'm sure, compared to my experience of other bass specialist shops or UK based instrument retailers, BB or Thomann is my preferred route. It's all opinion when you strip everything else away, for me personally I appreciate being given the time of day, rather than being treated like a potential transaction only.
  4. A good friend who had emigrated to New Zealand came back to do the custom build course with Crimson guitars - built himself a very nice "Superstrat" guit*r. Really enjoyed himself, and said how fantastic the instruction and support was.
  5. Thank you - I can't find a Bossa bass anywhere in the UK. I have another Bossa guitar that was Brian Monroney's (Tom Jones etc) and it's my #1 💛
  6. hello guys, Christophe from CMC Audio here, thanks for the kind words! I hope you'll like this one, I'm here if you have any questions.
  7. Selling my Ashdown RM800 Evo 2 head. All works as it should. Originally this had a notched / stepped volume control, which I hate, so after contacting Dave Green at Ashdown he offered to install a regular smooth volume pot… for free! So that’s a little modification done by Ashdown themselves. There are a few marks on the metal casing that should be visible in the photos. I’m not gigging in the near future so it’s time to make some room in the house. looking for £275 collected from Northants or add £10 as a contribution to postage. Postage will cost more than that, but I’ll cover the rest. It comes with a power cable but you need to get your own speaker cable. No trades.
  8. Unfortunately, that would lower the tuning, which would make the drivers more likely to fart out, rather than less.
  9. As of right now (and I suspect it will be gone by lunchtime): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/236374724127
  10. Caught a band in Brighton a few years ago… the bass player was playing a Ric through a Trace with a 4x10 cab… and the tone was absolutely perfect. 👍
  11. Location: Teesside (N.E.)
  12. Taking my Son to see Architects at London O2 Arena on Sunday night.
  13. I went for the Dunlop and after a few gigs they are worn in and the Vox is now my go too bass. Had a gig on Saturday and it was the first time I've felt totally comfortable with the whole package. This £350 purchase is currently my number 1 bass above my JMJ, Cat and American Precision and Sandberg SL. Who would have thought it? This was Saturday -
  14. I got mine from Parts Express in the US. Any little 12V PSU will do. From memory around 50 GBP.
  15. A really big issue is boxes arriving but goods are not in box !! This was happening with Amazon deliveries where hi tech stuff was removed and replaced by screwed up paper etc and sent to the recipient! Parcel has been delivered and that’s got a POD but nothing in the box !! We have all manner of shipping disputes where the weight of the parcel and known weight of the goods is one way of determining all items were or should be in the box Suppliers have a responsibility though and should always make good 👍
  16. Bought a phone from Tom, knowing of his reputation (see above!). I wasn't disappointed - great chap, very responsive and the phone is fab too! Thoroughly recommended, thanks Tom 👍
  17. I imported a Heritage jazz from Japan and it oozes quality. GLWTS.
  18. Today
  19. You were only a couple of weeks out 😄
  20. In my old blues rock trio I used to do the MC stuff. I'd always start with 'We are called Toredown. If you've seen us before we have some new tunes. Probably some new mistakes. (pause) But the same old jokes'. 'If you haven't seen us before we go something like this'... the launch into it straight off. We found that the more blues rock orientated punters liked to know something about the songs, especially the more unusual ones - what they were called, who they were by. Not each time. At one point in the gig guitarist Alan would change guitars and, if it was the right kind of crowd, I'd say something like 'There are always people who come to live music who are interested in the gear we use so while Alan is changing guitars I'll just take this opportunity to talk about his stufff. Earlier he was using a cream coloured guitar with two pointy bits and is now changing to a caramel coloured guitar with one pointy bit (pause) It's small details like that can make an evening, I find'. It usually got a titter.
  21. I did see a red one on there a while back but it disappeared a few days ago
