Hi folks, for sale is my awesome Fender Custom Shop Jaco Pastorius from 2024. I have to thin out the herd and that‘s why I want to sell some basses. After years of buying, selling and trading it‘s time to "settle down" with just a 2 or 3 basses. This bass is in very good condition, purrs like a kitten and can sing like a bird! Wasn't played that much. Some tiny signs of wear on the fretboard. Electronics and truss-rod work with no issues. Comes with the original case and all the candies. Pick up is preferred, but maybe I can shipping to buyer's expense and risks. Maybe we can meet in person somewhere on half distance. If you need more pictures let me know. No warranty, no return and no guarantee because I am a private seller. But all informations is provided to the best of my knowledge and belief. I am open to trades, but there are only a few basses that I am interested in. Maybe Adamovic 6 String, Mattison; Ken Smith BSR 6 String, but you can try to lead my into temptation. (In case of trading we have to meet in person, no shipping!) Price is 4100 Euro.

I bought a double bass from Richard a couple of months ago. Really well described and pictured and it was brilliant to meet him and discuss all things life and bass. Really generous with his time and he even brought the double bass into London for me to come and collect! Thanks Richard!

I bought a Tokai from Nik yesterday. The bass is brilliant and perfectly as described. Unfortunately I had to dash off otherwise there’s a high likelihood we’d still be talking about all things bass. Really nice guy and can’t recommend enough. Thanks Nik!

Yeh, PMT used to be quite good for bass stuff until they moved, only went in a few times after they moved and they weren't as good. But there were others down your way, such as dawsons, in exeter, but they didn't have that much.

I think this is a good encapsulation of where pre-amps are currently at.

Doesn't surprise to hear you say that. Not when you see so many big names that have disappeared since Covid. The last time I journeyed up to Bristol (last May) was to pay a visit to PMT for the sole purpose of viewing a Schector fretless they were advertising. I checked with the store before travelling, explained where I was journeying from and gave them my phone number. When I turned up (the following day). I was told the bass hadn't been in store for a month. Another wasted trip 😥 Can't say I was too sorry to learn PMT had gone under. But as @neepheid said it's tough going when it comes to needing gear and living in the sticks !🙄

£50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁

Also the heat sink models are lower wattage so are a lot lighter, I've got 2, the rehearsal room has a fan modal, about 400 watts I think, weighs a lot more than mine and is not any louder as far as I can tell, mine are still plenty loud enough for gigging without a full PA - Today

To be fair that's pretty clean for a 40 year old fan; it must've been cleaned of dust/crud a few times. I'd be more concerned about the amount of fluff inside the amp, which is why I prefer the sealed heat sink cooled heads. They're pretty much pristine when opened up. -
I remember when they came out, nice jazz, the special also had the Greasebucket tone circuit

Update: Mine has come off my board and may end up on the F/S section (Little one got hold of the registration card and decided it'd look better creased and torn so can't send it back under 30 days anymore)... Honestly a great sounding pedal and I'd recommend to anyone after an amp sim. My only issue is my band runs everything through an RCF Evox 12 system with no backline. The details of the amp sims are completely lost on it as it's not the best PA; so I may as well stick with my old school Tone Hammer V1

I had periods where playing gave me the adrenaline rush of playing to a crowd and getting approval, validation and praise, along with a decent financial reward. Then for a short while I did it predominantly to money and wanted to be suitably rewarded for my time to leave the house and play. I had fun and played in a good band, but it had to be financially viable. A few years back, I took about 2 years off from playing as I found it stressful and I had a young family who I would rather spend time with. I got asked to help out a friends band which the. morphed into a new band with some lovely people and good players, and before I knew it I was gigging a dozen times a year. What keeps me going is the social aspect and my mental health. I work a lot from home and noticed how isolating it can be, so practice and gigs gives me night or two away from the house and family to jus have a laugh and enjoy some music and forget about life for a few hours. Don’t get me wrong, a few ££ in my pocket is nice and I love a crowd that dances and claps an that feeling, but it’s just really helped my sanity for the most part.

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
basexperience replied to dudewheresmybass's topic in Effects
Exactly! The loop on the HX stomp was the clincher, but there are other ways - like a pedal switcher with a couple of patchbay lines on the back of the board (I used to run a switched on my huge board), hell, you could dedicate 2 external send/return lines for extension boards to isolate them. Advantage is, the send / return is going to have good level, and on the stomp I get to put a limiter / compressor / reverb / whatever on the other side of the board. Currently I have to run the creative board (the freeze / slicer / looper) after the filter board, but it works... -

I remember that one being up for sale for a very long time and the price was reasonable. I was slightly tempted. It's a USA built NS5, not much else to add as it was from a time before Spector started pumping out so many different models and styles.
