  1. Past hour
  2. Nice idea, not seen that one before. That pearl looks amazing too.
  3. Thanks Chris . It's reassuring to know that there are thoughtful Bass chatter's out there , willing to help out when needed !😉
  4. Badly attended gigs are just part of life. No point in worrying about it. There could be a thousand reasons why few turn up, ranging from something good on telly to a major international incident. Just play the best you can for those who are there and move on. I've had people ask for our card at poorly attended gigs, leading to another booking, so it's not all doom and gloom. The thing to bear in mind at functions is that the band is not the main attraction. People have come to see the couple get married, to celebrate Fred's 50th, etc, etc. The band is just another part of the picture, along with the catering, flowers, photgrapher and so on. Tomorrow's another day.
  5. That’s getting to the size where you’d fit it on my Boss BCB1000 😇 and I say this for no reason at all 😅
  6. Yeah, I missed that, but in my defence the site is currently a mess. The ABM page and UK ABM page make no mention of those, and the dropdown of the "ABM Series" only contains EVO-IV.
  7. It'll be interesting to see how that cleans up.
  8. Ohhhh, bad weddings...I'd forgotten about them. The absolute worst, because you feel for the couple, even though there's always a back story to a very bad one. We played one once where the couple and their immediate families (about a dozen of them) had gone to get married in NY's Central Park, then hired a real hole of a place for the cheapest evening reception they could. Terrible food, but big B&W pictures around the place of The Chosen Few all looking delighted in the US for the actual wedding. You could taste the resentment in the room. The 50 or so people other than the immediates were all on their phones the entire first set, then when the rubbish food came out, they all buggered off, leaving about 15 people. We were paid off and never did the second set. Still, it was full money and a very early finish, and luckily quite local...
  9. It also functions as a hub on my pedalboard, as it has an FX loop. I run that to a GigRig switcher which switches/bypasses various other pedals.
  10. I listen to all comments, criticism, praise etc out of politeness but the only ones I take serious notice of are from people who's opinions I respect, and the respect is born out of experience and understanding. That means mostly musicians, but I value our non-musician sound man's comments which come from a lifetime of listening to a wide range of music and his knowledge of the band's sound having engineered with them for more than 5 years.
  11. It works very well with my pedals, haven't encountered any issues so far. The gain is very similar to my TE GP12. I can highly recommend it, I bought a footswitch from Ashdown
  12. They're still producing the other amps, like the Head of Doom, ABM Evo V, Shavo etc - they're just under the 'Custom Shop' banner now.
  13. You would not QUITE be there if it was a Wordle 😂 Si
  14. When I had one of these basses, I treated it to a new pickguard from Adrian Maruszczyk as I wanted a different look. The bass was moved on a few years back but it seems I held on to the original so here it is. The new one cost me £45 so I'm listing this for £30 including UK shipping. My feedback thread is below:
  15. Here's a quality on-board pre-amp that I have no need for. It's a Glockenklang and consists of a volume pot, with a push-pull function to select active or passive use, and a stacked bass & treble pot with a centre-detent & knobs. These are £109 new at Bass Direct so I'm asking £55 (reduced from £70!) including UK shipping. My feedback thread is below:
  16. Absolutely delighted it came out so well, and no surprise Jon showed what a good lad he was too
  17. Today
  18. Is the top left dial marked "Peas", or is that my eyes? I'd love a pedal with Peas written on it.
  19. Ive managed to find a guitar box, so delivery is now an option
  20. Hi Dave what’s the year build on this?
  21. I have an UAD Apollo interface on a Mac. Thankfully it is really good because if I wanted to switch it for something else getting rid of all of the DSP plugins and UAD software would be an utter pain.
  22. Mine us destined to receive holes.
  23. Seems a shame there’s a price jump from the tonex one to the tonex one bass edition though. The promise of a wet dry blend has me potentially sold though - it’ll likely kick my ultra wave and jam rattler off the board and I’ll keep the tone hammer as a DI/tone sculpt
  24. Yeah the 4 string was mine - Jon did a stunning job but it took a while! I still have it and it’s still my favourite most played bass
