  1. Past hour
  2. Very high quality Hall reverb with that lovely infinite reverb effect. Boxed and complete with sticker, guide, unused stick on rubber feet. I’ve tested it and then put it away as it doesn’t have a battery option and I no longer use a powered pedalboard. Like new. Price includes UK postage.

  3. Just got back from a gig where I used one of these, great sounding cab.
  4. Oh my, I think the bass gods are really toying with me; I was looking out for a Tune 5-string a while back (I have the TWB-6 and a couple of the later Korean models). Sadly, funds won't currently allow me to go for it but I can certainly vouch for the quality of these basses. Absolutely! GLWTS. 👍😎👍
  5. Right up my street but no trades is the dealbreaker! GLWTS man and have a bump!
  6. That sounds like something I could use, as I might make some more of these. Do you have any links to where you get these from? An Amazon search was unhelpful.
  7. Most top acts tend to over-use subs as well. I'd say three out of four FOH mixers have no idea how to mix bass. The fourth is a bass player. ☺️
  8. Doh!... Been a while... Soz! ☺️🥳..if there is any interest still, here is the YouTube link..... A little more Gilmour It's been fun, proper gigs start in October...
  9. Bill's advice is spot on, as always. I'd suggest using the HPF at 60-80hz on everything in the PA, not just the bass. You won't block all frequencies below that figure, because the roll-off will most likely be at 6, 12 or perhaps 18db per octave. It will make the overall sound a lot cleaner. People tend to over-use PA subs and put too much low frequency energy into a room, which results in mud and boom city and can excite all sorts of nasty resonances in a room that isn't acoustically treated (which applies to most gig venues).
  10. New, opened but unused Ernie Ball Cobalt Flatwound Short Scale Strings 50 70 90 110 — 2817, Green Silks. No outer packaging, but in mint condition in a clear plastic wallet. £40 inc UK delivery
  11. To me, it was a Jazz bass (especially a '70s one) with the bridge pickup's volume set full on and the neck one's for about a third but also a Stingray (it was 3EQ one), both strung with stainless steel roundwound strings (DR Hi-Beam), that sounded woody.
  12. Barefaced One Ten Cab 200 watt 8 ohms. Excellent condition with the usual tolex lift at the back. A nice loud little cab, very light and perfect for small gigs and rehearsals. Pickup preferred but I could post at buyer’s cost in the UK.

  13. Gemini pickups might do something to fit
  14. Today
  15. Also have a chat to Steve at Catswhisker… they make great pickups and are very amenable to tweaks. https://www.catswhiskerpickups.co.uk
  16. Best pick up and pay in person?
  17. … you can buy hand held strip heaters for this very thing. They do look a bit like hair straighteners, but are definitely not (you’d burn your hair if you tried lol)
  18. I've been listening to a lot of reggae over the summer, it seems like my whole family agrees to like only one genre of music. There was one album that captured the rest of my family's imagination, Benjamin Zephaniah's 'Rasta' ('82/'83 ish). A fantastic album with some great instrumentation. Apparently the ol poet himself was fond of picking up the bass, I've seen pics of him holding one but I'm unsure if he played live or on his own recordings. Rasta was my introduction to Benjamin Zephaniah back in the early 90s, I taped it off a mate and wore that tape out in the car stereo, I've listened to subsequent albums of his and, although good, none match the impact of that first album. Anyway, can anyone shed any light on Benjamin's bass playing out there please?
  19. Hi, yes tried it with a few
  20. The all important mid frequencies on bass carry a lot of the timbre information and that would be where the “woodiness” tones live too. As low as 300hz and up to 800hz depending on the instrument and signal chain configuration. Being careful to find which regions impart boxiness or muddiness. There’s a balance to be had, because, for example a speaker cabinet may have a big dip in it’s mid range, making it sound “lower” and deeper, however it will mean there’s more to be pushed in the mids to get them back. So, I suppose I am starting from a “plug the bass straight in to a studio monitor” sort of place. Actually that’s not a bad way to learn what your bass actually sounds like before it enters the signal chain. (I play my basses through big @$$ studio monitors every day, which frankly, dialled in is an absolute joy.. all those lovely rich details coming from such a sublime instrument….) *someone get Dood his meds, he’s off on one again…
  21. That’s a shame. I was planning to visit them next month when I’m in the area with time to kill. Very friendly on the phone and I bought a number of accessories/rosin etc from them online.
