  1. Past hour
  2. Grandma's Feather Bed - John Denver
  3. I was about to write this. Furthermore, spikes act more like a coupling device than a decoupling device and were originally intended for pure British market where carpet is everywhere in houses, so with spikes, the speakers were again in contact with some solid floor... That's their only purpose.
  4. That reminds me, I would like a set of 40 60 70 95 Ernie Ball cobalt flats in 32" scale suitable for string-thru mustang basses to exist so I can try them on a JMJ.
  5. Eider Anything For Love But I Won't Do That - Meatloaf
  6. Don’t Look Down - Go West
  7. Budget Jazz Bass in excellent condition. A Stagg branded jazz with a maple neck and lightly flamed maple board. P bass nut width. Controls are as standard aside from the series/parallel switch. Plays and sounds very nice. Alder body (according to the spec sheet) which is Quite light and full sounding, and rare at this price point. Could do with the funds but im open to trades for amp heads or pedals possibly. Postage possible, collection/meet preffered. Cheers
  8. I havren't had any problems with 5.8 being busy, even though I am a heavy user of it - i have the IEMs, the XVvive transmitter for the bass and a 5.8g modem for the X18, also the singer is on my wireless microphone transmitter and has just got a wireless sax. Its surprisingly been trouble free
  9. 24 hours is more than enough. For many years my valve amps took the ride to the gig in the back of a van, where there was little to no heat, while being stored during the week in an unheated shed. Mind you the over night temperatures in my area during winter are -5C and lower, often dipping to -20C. The time between when my amp got into the heated club and when I fired it up was about an hour. I never had a problem.
  10. Yeah I’d wait a while too, especially in this weather, best to be safe
  11. Bolo

    Valve amp

It'll dry quicker switched on and cranked. Whatever happens serves you right for asking chatgpt before us.
  12. FFS, new date is also gigbound. Sorry folks, no invasion from me this year
  13. Hold Your Head Up - Argent
  14. Hubert Eaves IV's bass lines on this live album are a masterclass in groove. Erykah Badu - On & On (Live)
  15. They were very good friends with Ox, Squire and Lemmie. 😉
  16. They're punchy and cut through a mix. A pair of Js is scooped by nature but these are bright and sparkly. I was so happy with them that I got Lee to make me a pair of splittable J humbuckers for another bass so that I could effectively have the same j pair available on a push-pull pot. He also did me P+J set that is brighter and less nasal than typical. They have longer bobbins. I've had three sets of pickupsfrom him and he's nailed what I wanted each time. He changes the recipe to capture what you need.
  17. So good! Happy new bass day! I love a good MIJ...which is all of them really.
  18. SH73

    Valve amp

Thank you, Young grasshopper 🤣 that made me giggle, I needed that
  19. There is a difference between the vibrato and chorus on mine but it seems to be a very subtle difference.
  20. Elixir should start making short scale strings.
  21. I am intrigued also, but not cross-country level of intrigued It's just this does make me wonder as its not really a subjective thing. Latency is latency, and I think I remember reading a very geeky post on TB or perhaps on reddit about someone actually measured what it was at a specific fret on a specific string from the waveform and it came out at something silly like 2ms, which of course isn't perceptible! I think my Shure wireless is double that, and again that's just not something you're ever going to notice. Given that it is digital though, I feel like it must vary somewhat depending on the input signal, as opposed to the analog OC-2 type circuits that just flip whatever comes in back at you . So its an interesting one, though perhaps one for the Dull Mens Club on Facebook 😅
  22. Yep I think this is the answer and just found a pair new for £16 !
  23. A bit of a necro thread... I was a BF user, had a BB2 and later a One10. I found the One10 started distorting at quite low levels, so stopped using it. I later fancied changing to a combo and bought a GR Bass AT800 Cube (1x12 combo) and sold the BB2, and later went back to separates and went for a GR Bass AT212 to go with my Tecamp Puma 900 (despite having built a BC 112 Mk3, which I also sold).
  24. Today
  25. All of my extended crew have been on IEMs this past year, which is so much better than just half of us a couple of years back with a previous line up, which felt a bit like a dog's breakfast with the guitarist still using a stage amp for monitoring. We're still a mix of wired and wireless for mics, IEMs and instruments, but, as it happens, one of the singers has been making noises about getting a wireless for her IEMs so I'll be recommending the Swiff WX520 to her and suggest she gets it off AliExpress which seems to be considerably cheaper. I'm definitely tempted to join her and then have my old Xvive U4 as a back up for the occasional dep. And yup she and I could both go stereo...
