  2. Had a rehearsal booked today. Message from drummer saying he's put his back out, then singer messages saying she's dribbling with cold... But we went ahead anyway - I got the album drum stems on the laptop, plugged it into the PA and we did a 2 basses and guitar rehearsal. And it was excellent! We've ironed out some of the niggles between the 2 basses, and new guitarman now has all structures, and can do the widdley bits with me and solos that fit over funky slap stuff. So extremely worthwhile - should now be fine for Rebellion with 3 more full band rehearsals and warm-up gig to go.
  3. Here you go, Dave - the Richard Sinclair part for 'The Sleeper'. The Breathless album (hereafter known as 'The Pointless Album' was from 1978 and I have to say it completely passed me by (as did a lot of Camel, it transpires). The guitar charts are few and far between, Dave. I am working on my guitar reading and find the same problem that I always had with learning to read bass parts; there is a dearth of interesting material to draw upon (outside of classical guitar which can be a bit, well, naff). So I decided to try putting together charts of my own. It takes a lot longer and, whilst I can do most bass charts without a bass in my hands, but I cannot do the same with the guitar so the process is much more laborious. As for how, I have learned that patience and tenacity are my super powers and, if I start something, I generally keep going until it is finished, even if it is a long drawn out process. I can't complete with the young gunslingers and I don't live where there is a massive amount of Jazz happening but this I can do any time of the day or night with no pressure. Once it is done, it is there forever. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/the-sleeper-camel/
  4. Good shout, no I haven’t tried that but I will. I’m enjoying the IEM experience so much I can see custom moulds in my not too distant future.
  5. The good news is that when you do find that place, you might find a couple of missing socks and a fiver.
  6. Nooooooooooooo... .

  8. The picture of Judas Priest means they're supporting, right? 🤔
  9. I’ve got one of these (not to this great spec) , for anyone who hasn’t tried one they really are good, and mr dodgnofski is amazing to deal with, GLWYS
  10. I mean, don't get me wrong, Breezysports are usually my first port of call for music news but, this time, I fear they dropped the ball. Perhaps it's... windy... out there.

  12. I think it’s my absolute favourite board. Keep thinking about ditching the BCB1000 and just having 2 of these
  13. Good old (new) Sandberg Cali in metallic orange.
  14. … the benefit of having an expandable board 👍🏻
  15. Just seen this https://www.breezysports.co.uk/2025/06/16/new-era-led-zeppelin-announces-2026-farewell-tour-one-last-ride-marks-the-end-of-a-rock-legends-era-dates-and-cities-revealed/ Apparently hell has frozen over (apologies to The Eagles) Anybody want to buy a kidney or lung from me so I can afford to go.... One not very careful owner but I've never smoked
  16. Hmm, yeah, I suppose we don't want to derail too much from the OP and his bass. I quite liked those Stentors when I've tried them, though the stock endpin isn't long enough for my height and where I like the bass to sit. The ones I'd played seemed quite articulate for pizz playing, possibly the petite shoulders and proportions help with that. And setup-wise there are points in between high tension steels and the lowest tension rockabilly slap strings, you don't have to go all the way to one end or the other if you want to explore a range of styles and still be slap-friendly. Someone else will have more specific reputations, I'm firmly I'm the Spirocore camp and don't have much experience outside of it!
  17. Hi all Tricky one to price this so feel free to message if you think I’m wildly wrong in either direction. It’s a wicked P bass that I’ve had for quite a while, fully Japanese early 90s (Fujigen) made. Weighs in at only 3.6kg. The neck is from a PB-62US, with the big reverse tuners, dark rosewood board and 60s logo. There’s a bit of a flame to the maple on certain lights. 44mm nut. The body is from a Squier Silver Series Precision Bass SPB33 (stamped in the neck pocket). These are great basses which I have another of. I believe electronics and pickup are original, the tone control is great, lots of options across the range rather than just on/off that you often get. Condition: Body, pretty worn and some chips to the finish, you can see some lines where the 3pc body joins together in certain lights. It’s looks great and has a nice genuine ‘relic’ vibe to it. The pickup poles and screws have a bit of rust on them but nothing that affects the sound Neck: Probably better condition than the body, lots of minor dents and dings but fair condition for a 30+ year old neck. The PB62US P Basses go for £1000+ and the silver series squiers look to be around £500 so I’m starting this at £650 but open to offers - a chance to get a great workhorse P bass with a high end Japanese neck for much cheaper than you otherwise would. Any questions, give me a shout. Shipping possible but collection preferred from Chessington or Central London. Thanks Dan
  18. … if you have a Cioks DC7 you could try one the Crux unit add-ons?

  20. Is this the guy in Finland? If it is, then I have one of his creations in a Wal style. Very nice bass. He posted on the US bass site a good many times under the MPU name, I believe.
  21. I find it amazing in this day & age, where everyone carries a calendar with them (in their phone) all the time, that it takes some so long to reply with availability. Look at calendar, reply, not the hardest task of the day.
  22. Did it! Wooo. Just thought about Top Gun incidental music… Yamaha BB414, Yamaha AES800b guitar. hangover, tea and Battenberg. and no…I can’t get the long working; why break the habit of a lifetime https://on.soundcloud.com/BSQxU5CAoHXxMLYvkt
  23. Probably been said already, but it sounds like a professionalism issue on the part of the musicians who don't bother to commit to the idea.
