Thanks - those frequencies make sense to me. And having independent headphone volume from the master is really useful: If I'm in a cramped band pit in a theatre I'm often very close to my cab but also invariably the keyboard player's personal monitor which can blitz out a lot of what I can hear. Being able to run headphones as well as the cab would be very cool. Also just noticed the inclusion of a 9v 250ma power output which would be super useful to run my EQ2 pedal off - only need to bring one power cable!

I felt the need for a Speakon adaptor, for custom lengths and not to be caught out by a wide stage or awkwardly placed monitor again. Yes, they exist! I found cheap copies sold in fours or pairs, but given the application forked out for proper Neutrik. It's lovely, and turns out to have a locking sleeve so you can safely leave it attached to one end of a cable.

Hi Laura, As Prowla says, learning to read bass clef notation would definitely help. I usually start students on a simple Double Bass method - your Yamaha electric bass is basically a double bass turned on it's side - like "Team Strings" or "Strictly Strings". That will give you a good and simple grounding to not only reading, but learning where the basic notes are on each string. I then move players onto "The Literate Bassist" by Fred Paterno. That's a great book that takes you through line development in various styles. Use LH fingers 1-2-4, covering only three fret spaces below the 7th fret. Above this point, you can change to one finger per fret. Practice your RH walking with index and middle fingers, experimenting where you like the sound best. (I usually go for mid way between the pickups.) Best of all, you live in Michigan - Joe Dart country. Seek him out for some lessons.

I assume he's refering to Cherenkov radiation, which is not only blue and sci-fi looking but is the result of some pretty awesome physics. It is also a FABULOUS name to put on the headstock! IMO if 1 cab sounds good, 2 cabs always sound better. You move more air which can make you louder, but more importantly improves your tone.
