  2. Here we have a very nice condition Status-Graphite "The Groove" 4-string bass, finished in 'Claret' red/burgundy. (Definitely looks more burgundy to the eye!) The bass is around 26 years old (1999 build) and presents well for its age. There are a few light scratches as you'd expect and one very small ding in the back, but nothing serious and all looking in good order for it's comparative age. Alder body, three-piece maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, light weight tuners, 'TRIMAX' pickup (basically three single coils joined to make a humbucker with the inner coil used a the hum eliminator). Two-band EQ with cut/boost on Treble/Bass and true passive/active switching via a micro-switch. The Bass has just been set up with a nice low action & no fret buzz, and has brand new D'Addario 45-105 strings added. Comes complete with generic Gig Bag and strap locks. Offered at a reasonable £695. Interesting trades accepted. Buyer to collect from Derbyshire DE7, or can meet half way up to a reasonable distance. Payment via Cash or Direct Bank Transfer. No PAYPAL.
  3. Great update. I read the first post and was sure it was familiar. 🤣 My motivation to play when I don't have a gig lined up is probably the same as most of us. I've been playing long enough now that picking up the bass after a few weeks off is no great shakes, certainly for the standard I play at. I think just playing along to YouTube with "following track autoplay" switched on is quite a good exercise in ear training. You get no warning what's coming up next, you may never have heard the song before. The first verse and chorus are finding the chords, the next time round, maybe parts of bass lines, etc. Then it's on to the next track...
  4. Not massively flat, just a little bit, but i feel responsible because i sold it to him. The strings are six weeks old, and the rest of my set up was spot on, be it pick-up height, intonation on the other strings and action... I will have him read this thread in case one of the scenarii you guys have mentioned looks like something he would have spotted! Thanks a lot for your help!
  5. There's an Aguilar AG700 in the Classifieds which will run at 2.67 ohms. Great sounding amp.
  6. Diese Märchen - Daniel
  7. Auf immer und ewig - Chris Rea
  8. Me again and another Sansamp sold to Arnoldas! All good as before 😀
  9. The specs say 8 or 4ohm - I'd assume therefore it's minimum 4ohm. Using an 8ohm and a 4ohm cab at the same time would potentially take you below that to 2.67ohm, which I suspect it won't like.
  10. Hand sanded Liberon Finishing oil up to 700 grit and 3 coats of Liberon Bison wax. This one is going to be an absolute beauty!
  11. I’ve reached that point too. I had six at once. Down to five now and still struggling to narrow it down.

It's sad to see any music shop go under. When ever I'm in a new town, I look up where the shops are just to have a nose, and still remember being a young'un and the excitement of looking round at all the instruments. But, to be honest, I'm a bit fed up of going in to look a shops basses to find the genetic line up of a couple of Fender player series, maybe a Cort or an Ibanez or 2. None of them anything like setup so no point trying one. Meanwhile, there's racks of different guitars on the wall. The old PMT at least had a separate room of basses to look at. The new one had about 8, with nothing worth looking at.

  14. Ok, so GAS has got the better of me (again) and I’ve splurged a load of cash on something else, so this is now available for £120 including UK second class delivery.
  15. It's sad, but it's been on the card since the original owners sold up and cashed in. My local was the OG Pmt in Southend. I went there a bit, but I was never a fan and felt dirty doing do. Something bout the way they ran the business felt off, and their face-to-face customer service left something to be desired. Not to mention some of the horror stories I'd heard about their guitar setups. I used to quite like their original tiny shop, but they got too big too quickly IMHO as the "professional" bit in their moniker went out the window and successfully put their local rivals out of business by targeting the budget end of the market. Eventually, they simply didn't stock the things I was interested in and wanted to try. When they sold the business, the original owners retained the Southend building itself and charged the new owners an extortionate amount for rent. So the new management simply closed the store. It surprised me, but to be honest I don't miss it. There's other local shops I miss more - such as Honky Tonk - who PMT effectively put out of business.
  16. Great MXR80 2 channel DI very good sounds (ground lift button cover missing but button works) and the awesome Keeley compressor - very simple but very effective both £90 each inc postage or £165 for both No trades or offers on these please - as priced to sell
  17. 16.5kg - excellent! A partially redundant part of my anatomy breathed a sigh of relief. PM incoming
  18. Sounding good and that Ric sounds very nice. Dave
  19. Off to I imagine one super happy new owner! Great stuff it's sold, and I'm slightly envious 🤣
  20. So beautiful Good luck with the sale
  21. You only need half of those If you got rid of everything fret wise above the octave and every part of a fret on the two treble strings, you could make it a hybrid fretted/fretless and do all the pointless noodling on the bits real bass players don’t use 👍 #joking

Unfortunately this wasn't my experience when I was up there in November just gone. I would definitely try again though when I'm next in Nottingham.
  24. Big love Lee 💙 You know where we are mate
  25. Played a great gig at the weekend, probably our best yet. The Thunderstangbacker sounded ace, and I love my little Eich combo!
