  1. Past hour
  2. I appreciate the concern, but I'm OK if some get passed over. I'd much rather that than have someone come up to me and go "hey, you've got X bass, don't you?" and I'm "ahh yeah, sorry, I left it at home - maybe next year, if I still own it by then!" I've already decided to rein things in slightly - I'm not going to take the extra 1x12 cab. Going to take the Markbass combo and the TC Electronic BH250 head as a headphones only amp - which might be handy if things get loud in the room anyway.
  3. Anyone know where I can get one built? Ideally superlight ie Paulownia or similar. I have the USA MM pickup and original electronics good to go, Allbridge lightweight MM bridge and a graphite neck hopefully in the next month or so from the wonderful Kiwi’s enterprises. Looking to get it all as light as possible, if anyone wants to take a project on 😉
  4. I really hope I can make it. It sounds like it’s going to be so much fun!
  5. About to move house so decided to start a clear-out.. and came across this I'd forgotten I had. Obviously, not needed so time to go to a new home possibly. Only used briefly a while back and had the velcro fitted to the front, a little on the underside too where I used to fit the PSU along with a couple of cable-tie fittings I used for the power leads (see pics). Case might be a smidge dusty. Tracked 48 postage included.
  6. Just worried that you might be worrying about how to transport hem all, only to feel a little deflated if only a handful get all the attention. There's plenty of space, although you may need to squeeze up to create space for a latecomer.
  7. Nope should I be able to attend I will be delighted to meet my Scottish brother from another mother, magic decal or no (i Mean “nay”)
  8. Newbie? Repeat after me “is it any good for metal? 🤷” youre supposed to be asking a question, not have fictional actors making statements get with the program …🧐
  9. Sadowsky UV70 5 string. 2010 build. Natural Ash body. Satin maple neck. Sadowsky single coil JJ pickups. Sadowsky 2 band active preamp with Vintage Tone Control (VTC). White blocks and binding. Hipshot Ultralight tuners. Approx 4kg. Sadowsky lightweight case. Extra pickguard (brown tortoiseshell). UK delivery costs will be minimal.
  10. The trouble I have with this very sensible statement is that all my basses are different from the usual. I don't own a single Fender product right now. I can think of at least five off the top of my head that people have expressed an interest in seeing. I joke about being mad (the whole journey is mad anyway) but I'm not trying to take over the whole show, or use number of basses as some sort of weird flex (which would be pointless as I know there are plenty of people out there with more than me). If I'm overstepping, or anyone feels like I'm impinging upon their available space and/or enjoyment of the event please tell me so and I'll rein it in, I can handle a home truth if it is required.
  11. If the neck is set with a positive pitch at the neck joint, can the glued set necks be shimmed or adjusted to lower the action, or is the owner left with having to deal with the ole idea of using a positive pitched neck to reduce fretbuzz? I know you could do it with a bolt-on, but how they intended for folks to adjust a set neck is puzzling me?
  12. I love the idea of people cramming so much in their cars that they can't move and have to drive for hours on end with a tweed Fender case resting on their neck. Or, that people have "a Bass Bash car." When the date is announced, they travel to an undisclosed location and get an Exxon Valdez sized mode of transportation out of the side of a mountain to bring their collections. As the date draws near, these behemoths run aground outside the local hall where the pilots casually shrug off the devastation of the local landscape caused by crushing innumerable forests and small villages, by exiting and saying "Look!! A 1996 MIJ Precision!! It's good for metal!!"
  13. Either flush your browser cache * and try again, manually entering the user name and password, or use a different browser. Storing passwords in a web browser is not a good idea, get a proper password manager. * can be done using tools in the browser, but plenty of instructions for various browsers online.
  14. I'd be honest and tell them what I really thought from the get-go, in a discreet but frank and honest way. Your friend might well respect you more for doing so. Unless your friend is particularly vulnerable or overly sensitive then I don't think telling the truth is wrong in this instance.
  15. I have the 4 On the Floor drive with the same filters. So useful for the gigging player to dial in the right sound on the gig. Tame the highs and anger the perfect amount of low end clarity. This EQ and a dirt pedal would be such a killer combination!! If I had the space on my board and wasn’t already running a cracking preamp!

  17. Have you met @neepheid before?
  18. I don't think that's easy, but probably wise. Did people leave because it was poor, or because it was too loud, or because they didn't like the music? We are getting the hang of the football crowd leaving as soon as the drummer starts winding his kit up. Now that the football is on at 5:30pm there are still a lot of fans hanging around the pub when we arrive. Then the music people arrive later on, a few of the football crowd hang around to hear 2 or 3 songs then quite often just disappear. People will put up with some truly awful musicianship if they recognise the songs. If the punters are pinned against the back wall, its too loud, if people are sitting at tables right in front of the band, it's not dancy enough and possibly not loud enough. We clear a dance area as well as clear the 'stage' area.

  20. Oooh - that’s nice…
  21. Especially the "high end" version. I'm just checking for a price...
  22. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.

  23. 1 rack unit is gone so the only one left is the lower one in the photos. For sale is my used but not abused EMS 500 19" rack case. The rack is currently assembled as 6U but can be reconfigured as 3U, 6U simply by removing some bolts and panels - 10 min job! You can also configure it so the top removes for mixers. The rack is currently assembled to a board with castors which isn't included in the sale and will be removed before shipping.........unless you really, really want it and then it would be an extra £20 and whatever the increased postage is. These are quite special cases as they are modular construction where you can increase or decrease the number of rack spaces by easily adding or removing side and end panels. All you need is an allen key! You can also use them with a mixer installed in the top and the top panel can be easily removed! See the photo of how I had the units set up for my band PA. (None of the rack equipment is included.) All catches etc are in good condition. Rack to rack depth is 48cm. Weight per 6U assembly is 18lbs / 8.2kg. See the attached brochure for more details. The 6U Gator version of this case weighs 13lbs so slightly lighter but is NOT as rigid, road resilient or has the flexiblity options. As these are modular I would propose they are dismantled and flat packed for shipping to reduce the cost. I'll give details on how to re-assemble if you need but its quite straight forward. I've estimated UK postage to be £15 per unit. 6U Rack Unit 2 - the lower 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 / Board with castors - £20 / Both together £100. Shipping Extra EMS.pdf
  24. My point is if you want a Bongo then one of these basses will only satisfy your craving for something that looks like a Bongo. If you want an inexpensive bass then a Sire offers much better value for money than one of these. They get much closer to their inspiration than these Sterlings do to a proper Bongo.
